Criminals in Occupied Paris

The hours of the Vichy regime forever sully French history and insult the French past and traditions. President Jacque Chirac on July 17, 1995 confessed that the criminal folly of the Nazi occupiers was seconded by the French state. In his new book, The King of Nazi Paris, Christopher Othen recounts the sordid Gothic horror story of a group of malefactors, a gang of criminals, crooks, pimps, corrupt and disgraced police, mafiosi, fallen celebrities, fake aristocrats, pimps, gold traffickers, even a former captain of the French national football team, who worked for the Nazis during World War II against the French resistance. Villains had come out of the shadows of the Paris underworld and played a role during the Occupation, aiding the Nazis at a time when France was a disoriented and confused country.

The Carlingue gang, sometimes known as the Bande de la Rue Lauriston, or Bonny-Lafont, was a major criminal organization under the Occupation. The name Carlingue, the cabin of an aircraft, implies it was an organization of structure and strength. The criminal activity of the gang included looting property -- especially of Jewish goods -- gold deals, stolen art, protection rackets, but it is most notorious for treason, torture, and murder of members of the French resistance on behalf of the Nazis.

The Nazi handlers allowed the Carlingue gang, said to number 30,000, immunity in return for part of the profits obtained by the gang’s activities and for information supplied. Some of the gang were given Gestapo identity cards to avoid arrest. The gang was not interested in Vichy’s plans for a New France. Nor were they motivated for ideological reasons or pro-Nazi sympathies, but by self-interest, greed, and contempt for conventional morality.

I read it. A bit complicated but a real indictment of the surrender monkey French culture. You knew that Louie in Casablanca would end up all right but the truth is not funny. And the women whose hair was publicly cut off? A teachable moment.

Thanks for posting, Kaslin. I haven’t ever read about what was really happening in Paris during the Nazi occupation. None of this is surprising, but it is really informative and enlightening.

Of note: “The French courts of justice executed 1,500 [Nazi collaborators?] between October 1944 and January 1951”

We really need such courts for that purpose for the anarcho-tyrannists among us these days.

It’s forgotten now, for obvious reasons, but the Nazi Party in many ways was a get-rich quick scheme with Hitler being a prime example. He copyrighted his image and got a royalty for each stamp with it sold. He required his book Mein Kampf to in every library and school in the country. Courthouses gave out copies to newlyweds. He died one of the richest men in the world.

When you see pictures of Germany in the 30s and all of the Nazi flags on display, you can be sure the flag maker was a Party member. All of the different elaborate uniforms, not just military...This idea worked its way down to the SS camp guards who sold the rags of clothes of dead inmates to the new inmates.

It should be no surprise that getting rich on the suffering/plundering of others would appeal to criminal types in Vichy France or any occupied country.

Of course the worst people in French society - thugs, criminals, opportunists, sided with the Nazi occupiers. I’m tired of people who weren’t even there who say that the worst people represented France as a whole.

The same reason that the French revolution, just a few years after our revolution was an abject failure.

Sure they over threw the monarchy, killed the king and queen and a bunch of 'royals', but, they set up a system of "democracy" i.e. mob rule.

The french experiment, started about the same time that the USA experiment, and look at what happened.

The few credits that I will give to France over the USA, the frogs use nuclear energy with no apology, and their police will not roll over {other than the mooselimb no go areas} for the mob.

Most frogs are Patriotic French Citizens, that really love their country, hate the krauts and mooselimbs {but I repeat myself}, love sex, hate hygiene, and think that they can sing.

They invented both perfume and gravy to cover up stinking bodies and spoiled, stinking meat.

The world is a better place because of the stinking, bad smelling, hairy arm pit, French women.

I give French men admiration for the way that they have upheld their supposed double sexual standard over their women for centuries.

Bonjour pussy. The French women have tricked the French men forever, and the French men are really the cucks.

In any occupied country there will be collaborators. Any country! If somehow Japan had occupied the United States, snipers would have been shooting at the occupiers from behind trees and bushes. But there also would have been people lining up to get privileges only collaborators could get.

And before anyone gets on the French “surrender monkey” train, first consider the French 12th Motorised Infantry Division. Their heroic rear-guard action at Dunkirk allowed most of the British army to escape.

And then there was the French resistance. Many people risked everything to help defeat the Germans.
