Love and Brandon Gwaltney’s species reveal party started out like any other.
The couple from Akron, Ohio, wore matching outfits with doggies and kitties. There was a cake decorated with puppy and kitten logos and a big question mark on top. And then, of course, there was the big box that typically contains the balloons that serve to reveal the species of their pet.
But as they counted down to one, what popped out were balloons shaped like all the animals from Noah’s Ark, followed by their 17-year-old parrot, coming out to the world with its new identity “Polly”.
“We wanted to announce that we got it wrong 17 years ago when we told the world we were having a little girl, and named that child McKenzie,” Love Gwaltney, the mom, wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday. “So we’d like to introduce you to our pet: Polly.”
Polly, an indoor-only parrot who perches in a corner eating nuts and crackers, helped organize the party. It chose the shapes of the balloons to represent its avian species identity.
“I wanted the Noah’s Ark set in there because I still feel that going from whatever you are originally to life as a pet is also a transition and it doesn’t just have to be within the same species,” Polly told CNN.
It said it’s been a long journey for it to discover its new identity as a parrot, adding: “Polly wants a cracker”.
So I guess 17 years ago, McKinzie Schoolcraft, a female, was born to a single mom. I guess Love Schoolcraft, the mom, married Brandon Gwanity.
SICK! No wonder the kid went the way they did.

Didn’t like dolls, fantasized about cars and playing professional sports, loved trains with my dad, love military history. I never wanted to be a boy, though.

Back when we were still a civilized society, a freak like that would have been committed to a state hospital.
Probably an ax murder of parents prior to suicide. The seriously disturbed sometimes can be violent.
This is why weird people need to be spayed and neutered.

Gwaltney is the stepdad. This especially special person may have come from the hippie mom’s former liaison; or, this especially special person may have invented a new surname to go with the rest of the specially special gender.
