Notice how the leads in news stories about Fauci always call him the nation’s top or “leading expert on infectious diseases” and never by his title (whatever it is)? It’s all part of the aura that Fauci can never, ever be questioned, even by those in his field.

This is something Trump desperately needs to realize. Those of us out here actually having to live under these conditions have long ago stopped laughing. This is a good thing. Hopefully scolding Navarro is simply a facade. Seems to me that Fauci has been eliminated from the equation.

That is absolutely the opposite of reality. Navarro is a fantastic member of the team, well-spoken and sharp-witted. Fauci is a snake, and Trump has only been humoring him because he knows that if he doesn't overreact to the virus, every death everywhere will be endlessly paraded on TV and blamed on Trump. But finally, he had enough, and to prevent a total economic collapse, had to ensure that the economy got reopened. The time for coddling the fraud ended.

I would not call The Marriage of Navarro "sharp witted". He has mouthed off nonsense many times and had to be corrected by the WH too many times.

Let me put it differently. If Fauci wants, he can sink the Trump re-election by going Bolton on him. Fauci has nearly 100% credibility with non-Trump supporters.

I disagree with everything you said. It’s the kind of thing said by those Republicans who say they wish Trump would stop tweeting, be more civil, etc. Losers, in other words. Navarro is tough, and he is a winner.
