Will the Left Kill America's Energy Dominance?

If the "liberal" green movement had the political power during earlier periods of our nation's history that it has now, we would not have built the railroads. Also, there would be no interstate highway system, and the electric grid system that powers our country would be disconnected and shattered.

What else can one conclude when a significant and vital energy pipeline, the 600-mile Atlantic Coast Pipeline from West Virginia into the southern states, has been canceled because of environmental activist opposition? Another pipeline, the Dakota Access Pipeline, has been suspended by a federal judge's order in recent days. Even the urgently needed Keystone XL Pipeline, which will transport natural gas and oil from energy-rich areas in Canada and the Dakotas down to Houston for export and delivery across the country, faces a court-ordered injunction. These actions are all said to be in the name of wetlands preservation, Endangered Species Act issues and other environmental protections.

It isn't safeguarding the safety of our nation. It is sabotaging it.

Thank goodness amazon is going full on zero carbon neutral by 2050. And the 'climate pledge arena' in seattle. Guess they'll make ice the old fashioned way? Not only that, our legislators in nevaDUH have put it into law that by 2030 50% of our NRG must come from renewable. If not? Not sure what the consequences are supposed to be. Butt, by 2040 (or was it 2050?) ALL NRG in nevaDUH would be required to come from carbon neutral sources. Maybe. Control people, control. KW/year limits on single family residence? They can already shut off your gas or electric with a simple key stroke.

They will try.

Hopefully, we will make them regret, really regret their attempt.

After we stop this leftist takeover, a top priority of the infrastructure rebuild MUST be the production and stock piling of transformers throughout the country.

That would be a good thing. Do we have any on hand now? I remember a while back reading that the really big ones were made in, where else, china and there was a 9 month lead time or something ridiculous like that. No way to run a country.

Just what I was going to say. They will kill everything including our freedom. When I read about communists like Angela Davis supporting Biden because he can be “effectively pressured” I tell myself it’s time to buy another gun.

A significant number of households will be energy independent in the near future, so oil and gas becomes an enterprise fuel less politically influenced.

If Putin could pick one change in US policy that would help Russia and hurt us this would be it. But still the Dems try to maintain the fiction that President Trump is doing Putin’s bidding. If you want to see Putin’s bidding just look at the Dems’ campaign promises.

I’ve told my wife if Biden gets elected I’m having an 8 ft chain link fence put up and stocking up on ammo and food and just waiting.

Energy IS the economy. Oil/gas have the highest energy density by far (except for nuclear). The energy density of solar and wind is a fraction of that of oil. Their “green economy” will cost A LOT more, for a lot less efficiency.

A big downside to renewables is how do you store all the power generated by those wind and solar power installations. It appears that we may have a solution with liquid air energy storage, which is being worked on by GE in the USA and a British company. That way, part of the power generated "charges" those liquid air energy storage locations, and they release the power when the Sun is not up and wind conditions are not ideal.

The problem with using lithium-ion batteries for such storage is the very high cost of manufacturing batteries for such an installation; liquid air energy storage uses technologies that have been around for many decades.

Obama tried and juiced it up massively instead.

Betting against American energy is a bad idea, imo.

Remove the provisions in the environmental laws that provide for the payment of the plaintive legal fees by the defendants.

If the environmental groups had to pay for their costs to file and pursue their law suits and damages if they loose, this litigation would stop.

Guess which party wrote this into the laws.

That used to be an issue, but companies are now specializing in salvaging lithium and other metals from used Li-On batteries.
