A name change will not matter. Real fans are going to disappear throughout the NFL. Football overcome by politics has no appeal.

Do what Prince did. Change the name to an unpronounceable symbol and then refer to them as the “team formally known as the Redskins.”

We strongly encourage the NFL Washington organization to rename their team in such a way that truly honors and respects the First Americans of this country. Renaming the team 'Code Talkers' to honor the Navajo Code Talkers, and other tribal nations who used their sacred language to help win World War II, would set the team on a path to restoring its reputation and correcting the historical misrepresentation of Indigenous peoples. And that'll piss of the Hopis, Blackfoot, Crow, Utes, Otoes, Senecas, Eries, Mohawks, etc...

How do you make a logo out of that?
Washington should drop 'Redskins' and replace it with nothing. Just go by 'Washington'. It's what sports announcers have been calling them for a couple of years anyway.

If you don’t know who the first nth Americans were how do you know if you’ve changed the name. Washington Clovis, Washington Folsom or the Washington Solutreans.
From what we’re observing these days why not just drop the Skins part of the Redskins name and just call them the Washington Reds.
