I remember in the mid 1960s you could buy draft beer to go poured into a thin cardboard cup with a cardboard lid. Kinda like an old ice cream container.

Let’s see. We couldn’t have paper grocery bags so went to plastic. We couldn’t have paper straws so went to plastic. Now, we can’t have anything but computers and phones being plastic. Now, we can’t have glass bottles so are back to.... paper. And people wonder why the country is so messed up.

Here in northern Virginia, the powers that be decided that sorting glass out of the rest of the recyclables wasn’t economic, so glass goes to the landfill now.
