Cops say suspect had knife, crowbar and slingshots, report says
A protester in Portland was arrested Monday after police say he used a “wrist rocket” to launch a metal ball that struck a city medic in the chest who was working with police at the scene, reports said.

Jesse Bates, 37, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault among other charges, KATU.com reported. Police said Bates was nabbed in possession of a crowbar, knife, gas mask, pyrotechnics and slingshots, according to the report.
The Portland Fire & Rescue employee suffered bruising, the report said. The alleged incident occurred at about 2 p.m. OregonLive.com reported that police were forced to chase the man and eventually employed less-than-lethal force to stop him.
Last week Portland’s Deputy Police Chief, Chris Davis, said an “agitator corps” of violent protesters are responsible for vandalism and chaos in the city.
Mayor Ted Wheeler, a Democrat, appealed for calm the night before.
Don’t forget the mandated union breaks.

I have used a wristrocket slingshot to shoo away hogs when hunting deer.

For anybody unfamiliar with a wrist rocket, that and a steel ball bearing can put a world of hurt to anything on the receiving end, including the human anatomy.
Maybe Benghazi was just a protest after all, if an armed attacker can be called a “protester”.
My uncle gave me a “wrist rocket” (a high powered slingshot) for my birthday when I was a kid. When I shot it off the first time, my mom was horrified at how far and how fast the rock went. So she took it away and yelled at my uncle for giving it to me. I kind of wish I still had it, especially in these “uncertain times.”
I’m surprised they still make them.

Fox should start calling these what they are - if not ‘Terrorists’ then ‘Gangsters’.

Any ‘real’ protesters should be turning away from these organized criminals, denouncing them and assist in apprehending them if they want to justify themselves.

With a metal ball, that’s a deadly weapon.
There was a kid in my neighborhood who decided to shoot a slingshot at a passing car. His dad made him pay for the damage. The kid started mowing lawns and found out that he liked earning money. He eventually started buying vending machines and was able to help pay his way through private school and college. Outside of that one incident, he was a great kid. Unfortunately, he suffered from seizures that claimed his life at 21.
The police know they’re going to show up every night and yet these people are free to cause destruction and injury.
I don’t understand why these people are free to keep doing the same thing night after night.
