California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday ordered a halt to indoor activities at certain businesses statewide as cases of coronavirus surge in the country’s most populous state.

Newsom, a Democrat, announced during a press briefing that all bars across the state must close up shop and that restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms, family entertainment centers, zoos, museums and card rooms must suspend indoor activities.

The governor also announced that all gyms, places of worship, malls, personal care services, barbershops, salons, and non-critical offices in counties on the state’s “monitoring list” had to shut down under the new order. The order affects more than 30 counties which are home to about 80 percent of California’s population.

The government will impose exactly as much tyranny as the people will allow.

Bet he’ll still get voted back in office since it’s all Trump’s fault he has to do what he has to do.

Exactly. So what do you propose? This bastard is drunk with political power. While he imposes his unconstitutional fiats, the state’s economy is being destroyed and tax revenues are being decimated. At some point everyone will be unemployed and begging for food.

Great, Newsom. Now my state’s evil Gretchen Whitmer will think “A man can do that and we women are as good as a man so I’m gonna close down Michigan worse again.”

Doesn’t this ever end? Answer: If Trump’s re-election is denied because dimwits blame him for the virus, then the next day “America is reopening. Lockdowns do not matter to spread of virus”—Fauci. And “Watch for my insider bestseller coming out next week”.

I’d think Californians, or at least some, would be getting tired of being led around by the nose.

The people, from what I can see, are extremely pro-lockdown, and getting more so.

You can't criticize CA because CA FReepers will jump up and down on this thread and scream at you. They'll remind you how most of the state is red, that they make up the bulk of the donations to FR, and their weather is so much better than your state.

And I doubt that conservatives in CA will descend on Sacramento like Michiganders did in Lansing. Californians are notorious for being laid-back and lackadaisical.

And will ask for a federal handout.

Blame your governor and local officials for all of this; spread the word.

‘The government will impose exactly as much tyranny as the people will allow.’

based on what I’ve seen of my neighbors, their allowance of tyranny is almost limitless...and their desire to snitch on others is as well...

FFS. I was hoping to be able to go back to the place that cuts my hair - they were excited about being able to open again. Hopefully they can last until Newsome decides to stop ruining businesses further.
