Pollak: Bogus NBER Paper Accuses Sean Hannity of Mass Murder
Breitbart ^ | 10 July 2020 | JOEL B. POLLAK

A team of economists has published a National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) working paper that accuses Fox News host Sean Hannity of killing thousands of people through “misinformation” about the coronavirus pandemic.

The paper, “Misinformation During a Pandemic,” was funded by the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago, but largely consists of partisan hackery dressed in statistical models to smear a popular pro-Trump voice.

To begin with, at least one of the authors of the paper, David Yanagizawa-Drott, appears to dislike President Donald Trump intensely. He complained in 2017 that then-New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady supported the president. He also encouraged protests against the Trump administration in 2017, and again in 2018.

That would not, by itself, invalidate the analytical conclusions of the paper. But the introduction to the paper reveals more about its partisan bias.

The first footnotes are references to articles in The Washington Post and the New York Times attempting to claim that Fox News had put Americans in “danger” through “misinformation.”

The paper itself focuses on Hannity. It uses survey data and economic models in an attempt to argue that because fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson focused on the coronavirus pandemic from an early stage — in late January — and Hannity did not devote much attention to it until weeks later, there are observable effects of that editorial difference in the personal behaviors and health outcomes of the audiences watching each show on the network.

I question the research of this paper, but I have nearly died of both boredom and blather-dom listening to Hannity’s program...

One thing to note a NBER Working Paper is not a peer-reviewed publication. It is more to get the idea out there and get feedback.

I think he’s a nice guy, but he so annoyed me years back on his radio show when he’d simply discuss everything Rush just did and with all the same insights.

I understand he used Rush’s show for prep, but this was everyday.

Hannity and Colmes was an okay show, but Colmes was so “out there” that it was not believable. That is, until after he left the show, I realized Alan really was that insane, and then it shocked me as to how they got along so well on air, which further made me question if Sean really had much going for him in his head.

"... but I have nearly died of both boredom and blather-dom listening to Hannity’s program..."

Yep! Accuse him of mass boredom, but not mass murder...

We would never have known about half the things odumbass and biden and hilLIARy did, if Sean did not keep them in the news.

My only disappointment with him is NOT going after Barak Obama’s birth certificate and eligibility more. Sheriff Arpaio proved it was a fake, and his posse even found SOURCE documents (document they cut and pasted from)

I am a computer software engineer- I’ve had my imaging software validated by the military at Ft Huachuca.

I am eligible to be called into court as an expert witness.

I knew 5 minutes after it was released it was ANOTHER fake.

Peer review means nothing if all of the peers doing the reviewing are in liberal ideological lockstep.

The odds are very high that two variables will be correlated if you have freedom to start and stop the a relatively short sample period.

Well, that explains why the majority of the deaths are elder in NY and NJ. /s

“Paper Accuses Sean Hannity of Mass Murder”

I just knew all that martial arts training was too dangerous.
