Why should they? So far it is no more than a teddy bear. Why should they consider tomorrow to be any different than yesterday? This is actually (dare I say it?) logical reasoning on their part.

They are successfully exploiting a structural flaw.
The middle class with families, jobs, property has everything to lose, and they know they can be taken out one-by-one. Getting fired, getting sued, getting attacked in public with impunity.
The have-nots are increasingly made into dead-enders so they have nothing to lose.
Those with enough money to hire their own round-the-clock security will virtue-signal to the mob - usually with the lie that they are “fighting for them” or somesuch - it’s just a palliative that their actions belie.
