In general, I like Liz Cheney. However, on this issue she is just wrong. We’ve spent enough blood and treasure in Afghanistan - and the President campaigned in part on, and in part was elected to, get us out of there. How does a representative of that President’s party come back to constituents with a position that “your views don’t matter” - only mine does?

Let’s also try to remember WHY we went into Shitholeistan in the first place - because of 9/11 and the Taliban connection. Well, the Taliban isn’t in power, and even if they were, so long as we could with a high degree of probability forestall/prevent/disrupt any future attacks that were supported by the Taliban (and, of course, massively retaliate if such an attack actually took place), then the goal would have been achieved. In the 19 years since we went in there, their country has stood still or even regressed in terms of its capabilities, whereas we are not just far more technologically advanced, we’re also on notice to keep alert for attacks of the 9/11 type. Again, mission accomplished - time to go home and not be the world’s policeman (gee, isn’t that a conservative value?).

The New York slimes.. notorious LIARS!

I'll even double check today's date before I'll believe the printed date on the NYT.

Trump has almost all of congress against him.. just because he does things different... and that’s why we voted for him. if I were Trump, i’d go on a rampage and name names... being nice doesn’t work with the dems.. and some of the repubs.

I’m just tired of masks... staying home.. stores not open or counting customers... i’m tired of the whole mess!

“Since when do democrats s want to stay in Afghanistan? Right now the enemy within is a bigger threat.”

1. Dems only want to do what makes Trump look bad.

2. The threat from within has ALWAYS been the bigger threat, at least since the Civil War. Yes, we’ve had some pretty big challenges since then, and lost an awful lot of people in handling them, but I don’t think that the existence of the country was ever at stake. When you have traitors in your midst, your nation is ALWAYS at risk.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.”

Marcus Tullius Cicero

This is grounds for removal from GOP House leadership. If that doesn’t happen I can only take that as a GOP endorsement of her position. Therefore, the GOP as an institution must be held accountable for this betrayal.

It will not happen. House Republicans always suppress rebellions.

I despise them slightly less than Democrats.

Here is the FULL Cicero quote on traitors:

“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city.

But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.

He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”

— Marcus Tullius Cicero, from a speech given to the Roman Senate, recorded in approximately 42 B.C. by Sallust.

I am a bit hard pressed to disbelieve the notion that Cicero was a time traveler, and that he wrote that quote after observing Democrats of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The nature of man is not bound by time. As long as one group of people decides for everyone, there is corruption.

We need to take every Social Science professor in the US and send them to Afghanistan.

Give them a shelter half and a case of MREs.

Let’s have them use all of their knowledge to fix things in Afghanistan.

Oh, I know. Just being a bit sarcastic - I REALLY despise the Dims, to me they are a combination of the Mensheviks and the Bolsheviks, with a lot of corruption added to that fetid stew.

And I was having hopes for Stefanik after the Impeachment fiasco and her stand during the whole thing. Yea, a lot like Lindsay Graham fooled me during the Clinton Impeachment.

OK Mr President, tell the fidiots you request authorization and funding to set 500,000 troops into the country to get it under control for a victory, see how that sits with these commies.
