If you’re building a tower, it’s gonna be a LOT of research into a lot of components if you’re avoiding China (as much as possible).

If you’re food with getting a laptop, Sager makes some good stuff. They’re mostly branded as gaming laptops, but they work great for work purposes. Especially if you use graphics-intensive programs for CAD or similar stuff.

I’m building a multi-head (six monitors) tower - it’s for trading. I realize it is a lot of research. What little I have done has been geared towards motherboards. There’s a lot available from Taiwan, but I don’t know if they source from mainland China. I haven’t encountered any Mobos made in the US. The next step after Mobos would be processors. I am pretty sure I can get an AMD processor fabbed in the US, not sure about Intel - still need to research that. After get through everything sitting on the motherboard I can add up the power consumption, figure out a power supply and cooling solution - that’s several weeks in the future. I’m no real hurry.
