I remember an interview where someone referred to him as a world leader. He corrected them, saying, I am not a world leader, I am president of the Russian people...

Which I took to mean, not president of Russia, but of the Russian *people*. Which means he hopes sooner or later to reincorporate at least those lands (eastern Ukraine, possibly Belarus, and other regions) where Russians are a significant presence.

At least, thats the way I took it. That seems to be his stance in general.

Yes..it is. Think about China, India, America, Europe, Russia to name a few...two hundred million over a few years doesn’t sound out of reality.

China and India have roughly 3 1/2 billion people. China has around 700 million available manpower, India has 600 million.

While I doubt US aid would go beyond weaponry and other supplies and financial assistance, the Russians did fly fighter jets against the US in both Korea and Vietnam. My feeling is that Uncle Sam could do to Russian invaders what the Turks have done to Russian aircraft stationed in Libya (there to support the ethnic Arab-based Libyan National Army) - seriously suppressed their activity against Turkish-backed forces (the ethnic Turk, Berber and grab bag of anti-Arab peoples, aka GNA, aligned against the LNA). The LNA was advancing westward rapidly towards the Libyan capital with Russian assistance. Tripoli looked about to fall. Once the Turks showed up, the LNA started retreating eastward towards the Egyptian border. The lines have stabilized somewhat, but a week ago, I was fully expecting the last remnants of the LNA to cross the Egyptian border into exile.
