Biden shares Fourth of July message focusing on racism: 'We have a chance to live up to the words that founded this nation'

Former Vice President Joe Biden made race a central theme of his July 4 message as the country grapples with widespread unrest over systemic racism and police brutality.

Speaking to the camera interspersed with video of past civil rights struggles, Biden said the country has not lived up to its creed – noting centuries of racism, the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and the killing of George Floyd in May – but that the U.S. is primed for a change.

“Our country was founded on an idea: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’ We’ve never lived up to it. Jefferson himself didn’t – he held slaves, women were excluded. But once proposed, it was an idea that couldn’t be restrained,” he said. “Through it all, these words have gnawed at our conscience and pulled us towards justice.

“We have a chance to rip the roots of systemic racism out of this country,” Biden, the presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee, added. “We have a chance to live up to the words that founded this nation.”

Hasn’t lived up?

Why don’t we ask all the millions around the world, alive and dead, who ran HERE despite all this evil we have.

The rats are in full pander-bear panic mode because they saw from polling that too many blacks were going to vote for Trump. The sad thing is, their gambit will probably work.

Live up to the founding principles?

They’re represented by the flag.

Do Democrats like anything about America ...or it’s founding

Our founding fathers were brave souls. They weren’t perfect

But they did an incredible thing..as did the people that made it happen.

And no, BLM and their anti American hatred are not like those that fought the Brits

What did the previous administration do about racism? Why isn’t the media asking Biden that?

“We have a chance to live up to the words that founded this nation.”

But, but, but, but the democrats have always said the Constitution is racist and therefore the country is racist.

And the only way to end this so called “systemic racism” is to round up all the democrats.

By doing what exactly candidate burp? Should we stop trying to even the playing field by not sending huge amounts of money to the “disadvantaged” for one? How about not having any form of racial balancing in schools, employment and home ownership. Ya see Joey, doing such is not treating everyone equally, it is picking winners.
It is not liberty to say sorry, someone less qualified is getting that job or admission. It is not freedom to say you have too much money or property.

This is precisely why I posted Obama's July 4 2010 remarks last night...Obama himself sounded "unwoke" spewing vitriol like "patriots" and "founders" and "Creator".

Biden sounds like a pandering loser. By comparison, Obama (who was a detestable President) didn't get into all this twisting and turning...did Obama believe what he said? That's a separate debate but when he was the President, he CHOSE to make Independence Day about, well, America's awesomeness.

Biden turned Independence Day into a Day of Sorrow, which is NOT what American feel today except for a bunch of graduate degree-holding white urban liberals.
