HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A suspected robber is dead after opening fire on a clerk who wouldn't let him pass a counterfeit $20 bill at a north Houston food store, police say. Houston police say they responded to a robbery in progress call around 10 p.m. Monday at Fulton Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect had been shot. Police say the suspected robber tried to buy something with a counterfeit $20 bill. When the store clerk told the suspect the money was no good, the suspect showed his gun and opened fire once.
Fearing for his life, police say the store clerk returned fire against the suspect. The suspect was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There were no other customers inside the store at the time of the shooting. Police say there are no charges against the clerk at this time.
Maybe the “walking and peaceful protesting” money was all fake like this perp’s was?
It wouldn't be the first time an enemy country tried to crash an economy with bogus paper. Remember the German attempt with counterfeit 5 pound notes, printed in a concentration camp?
The Abwehr paid off their top spy, Cicero, in Turkey, with this funny money. The ambassador was sloppy with security, like The Grand High B!tch, and the Germans were being fed all the diplomatic traffic that went though the embassy. Only thing that saved the Brits was that the Germans didn't believe anyone could be that stupid. They thought it was phony.
Probably not. I'm sure the police took copies of the surveillance tapes.
