Two San Diego Police Department officers have been placed on paid leave after they shot and wounded a robbery suspect who pointed a gun at one of the officers during a confrontation in downtown Saturday night.

The suspect, Hurtado Ibarra, 25, of San Diego, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was hospitalized in an intensive care unit.

The incident remains under investigation by the District Attorney’s Office.

In my long career handling liability cases for the insurance industry I handled quite a few “discrimination” cases, and in the employment context probably 98% met your scenario.

I think that’s a totally separate issue. If the bodycam is accurately documenting each encounter, then it’s doing exactly what I think it should be doing. If people are looking at basic reality and creating their own faulty narrative, or they have unrealistic expectations of how police should be handling various situations, then there’s other problems going on.

For now, I’ll settle for everyone having direct video and audio evidence documenting the basic facts of what took place. That should put every reasonable person on the side of good cops. It’s certainly turned around a lot of people when video and audio emerged after the fact that added context to the situation (like this story). Ultimately, I just want the basic facts to not be in dispute. If there are so many unreasonable people in a specific area that police can’t actually function, then the people living there will have to deal with the consequences of the ridiculous policies they create (including loss of good cops). As for the witnesses, FILTHY LIARS!

They should be charged accordingly. A minimum of filing a false police report, maybe inciting to riot.

Everyone of the “witnesses” providing materially false information should be charged.

Yes, with inciting to riot. That was likely the goal.

“...lying sacks of shit for so-called witnesses.”

I think most basically honest people would be amazed at how easily, naturally, and convincingly the criminal class can lie.

Several years ago there was a video sting set up by the police. Some guy was robbing bums, so they had a cop lying against a wall looking like he was a passed out bum. Guy walks up, looks around, starts going through the ‘bum’s’ pockets, finds some money and walks away. Cops are on him instantly. He immediately has a complete backstory as to how he’d lent the ‘bum’ some money earlier and how the ‘bum’ told him to get it from him. Thing was, he was so ‘sincere’, looking everyone right in the eye, that if I hadn’t seen the whole setup, I’d’ve believed him.

It’s one reason why cops have to become cynical very quickly to survive in their jobs.

Good cops have nothing to fear from everything being on video.

Then ask your self why police unions oppose body cams.

Probably the same reason teachers unions oppose any objective teacher evaluation: neither exists only to protect the good ones. They’re unions. They’re terrible.

“these days I don’t know why you wouldn’t activate the camera at the start of your shift and let it run all day.”

Privacy, no one has a right to hear what you say to your partner of your wife on the phone all day.

Protect the blue ... out of how many tens of thousands of interactions with The Blue Line every week, how many wrongful acts are committed by the police? Very very small number, yet the demon rat party has herded their blacks to action against the police AND the nation at large. Chaos is a demon rat tool. Their blacks must remain on the demon rat vote plantation ...

Haven’t looked into the specifics of this case, but, having been an ear-witness to a shooting, recently, Incan arrest that people in the heat of a shooting incident may not recount things as they actually happened. The process of interviewing and sorting things out through a grand jury will get to a better picture of whatt actually happened.

I see you love straw-man argument's, Example: if you have nothing to hide, then let the cop's search your car.

Not only no, but "F" word no. Reason is simple, I still haven't taken the time to bury Jimmy Hoffa. I don't want to get caught with the body.
