Liz Cheney Twitter @Liz_Cheney If reporting about Russian bounties on US forces is true, the White House must explain: 1. Why weren’t the president or vice president briefed? Was the info in the PDB? 2. Who did know and when? 3. What has been done in response to protect our forces & hold Putin accountable?

Whatever. We still need to get out of Afghanistan and spend the money on rebuilding bridges and dams in America

If Trump loses, a big reason will be he never came through with that infrastructure spending for the decimated Rust Belt. He talked about it at all his 2016 rallies, but once in office he let Ryan and McConnell block it

“American alphabet agencies” need de-funding and dismantling...for the sake of the world

YES! Immediately! Along with ALL Police Departments, Meter Maids, Mall Cops, "School Resource Officers" and Homeowners Association Nazis!

/Sarc

No, they just need housecleaning and supervision by people with integrity. Plus, perhaps, a few hangings from the yardarm, 'pour encourager les autres' ('in order to encourage the others') .

Dick Cheney is a war criminal who should be in jail for lying about WMD and making millions off of dead Americans. Liz Cheney is trash.

Infrastructure doesn’t need to be rebuilt. It’s perfectly fine the way it is, with occasional repairs to keep roads flowing and bridges up. Civil engineering boondoggles have been with us forever. Japan has spent copious amounts on bridges and roads to nowhere. It’s still stuck in a multi-decade slump. And accumulated a government debt to national output ratio 2x Uncle Sam’s.

Infrastructure doesn’t need to be rebuilt. “

The point is, Trump disagrees with you and it was a big part of his MAGA election victory. He didn’t deliver, and that’s not going to help him this November, esp in the rust belt where the rebuild infrastructure message helped him carry areas that the GOP usually loses. His message was, we need to stop spending on roads in Afghanistan and start spending on roads at home. America First.

I completely fail to understand this story. Why does the WH have to explain why the WH wasn’t briefed? Shouldn’t the non-briefers have to explain? Wait, would that be our intel agys who have largely been working to undermine Trump?

And what if the Russians actually *have* been bribing the Taliban to kill US personnel. You mean, the Afghans aren’t already wanting to kill US personnel?

And of course the most likely scenario, that the whole story is a hoax. But hoax or not, what of it?

Trump disagrees with you. That’s why he hasn’t made it a priority. Stuff Trump wants, Trump gets.

Re the study - it’s a civil engineer’s boondoggle. Would your mechanic be happier if you went to him for oil changes every 300 miles instead of every 5000? Sure - he could certainly use the cash. Would it make any appreciable difference to the functioning of your car? No.

It’s not a story. It’s what Liz Cheney tweeted. She demanded that the “White House must explain”

and so who exactly is to do that? The Feds themselves?

Everyone wants to leave it to the same people that created the problem. Expecting solutions to come from those that created the mess is illogical and irresponsible.

Its easier to de-fund, close down, and re-constitute in a different administrative format with a finite lifespan rather than in perpetuity

[Trump said it again last month -we need infrastructure - then McConnell publicly nixed it.]

Trump pays lip service to a lot of things. If he really wished it to happen, he could have threatened to actively campaign against McConnell in the Senate primary to ensure that he went down to defeat, thereby ensuring that all the other GOP senators got the message. Trump’s influence is such that while he can’t ensure a GOP candidate’s victory in the general, he can defeat that candidate in the primaries. Trump-endorsed GOP candidates have generally won primaries - when he campaigned on their behalf.

The fact is - Trump wanted the tax cuts and made sure they happened, but did nothing on DACA and the wall until the reality of the 2020 campaign and the inevitable are-GOP-voters-better-off-than-they-were-4-years-ago question began staring him in the face. Unfortunately, by that point, the GOP House majority was a fond memory. He thought his voters would stand by him through thick and thin. He was wrong. The SALT tax hikes in the blue states were all it took to undo the 2016 GOP House majority - blue state RINO’s were defeated in droves. He insisted on those tax cuts, and all it got him was a Democratic House majority-driven impeachment drive.

He didn’t deliver

Are you sure?

Check out this recent short vid from Brandon Straka (the “Walk Away” guy)

It has been happening, with no media coverage.

Surprise, surprise.

So your plan is that every time the NYT claims to have an anonymous leak regarding some matter then the Trump Administration is obliged to reveal classified info on that topic and answer questions until the God-hating commies say they’re satisfied? Is that how we’re going to run things?

The Russians have been playing games like this for decades.”

The Russians are NOT our friends. They belong to the “hurray for me and bleep you school of thought. They only do what benefits them.

WhyTF would the Russian’s paying bounties on US troops be Trumps fault, anyway?

Seems to me, if they were paying bounties, it would have been back when Obama was President. That’s when American’s were dying.

I had to turn the news off when they tried to make this all about Trump. Why don’t they have their Kremlin reporter ask Putin? Or ask Angela Merkel or Boris Johnson ask Putin. Both Britain and Germany lost troops in Afghanistan.

You’re making the same argument against Trump infrastructure platform that Ted Cruz, Rubio and othe GOP candidates made in the 2016 primaries. Maybe that traditional libertarian argument is right. But the point is, Trump won the nomination and the election on those infrastructure promises, they helped him win traditional democrat areas that don’t vote for the libertarian message. He’s going to have a challenge in those regions because he didn’t deliver - regardless of whether your libertarian arguments are right as a matter of theory
