African Christian University Dean: 'Black people in America are the FREEST and MOST PROSPEROUS black people in the world'

Dr. Voddie Baucham, Dean of Theology at African Christian University and former pastor from California, recently made waves when his sermon titled "Ethnic Gnosticism" resurfaced online. He joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Thursday to share why he believes today's social justice, anti-racism movements are "poisonous" ideology steeped in Marxist critical theory, which aim to "redistribute" justice to certain societal groups with no consideration for the individual.

"I've been trying to talk about this from the perspective of the big picture. Unfortunately, when you talk about it from the big picture, people tend to think, you just don't have empathy, you just don't have compassion, you just don't understand how bad it is. Me, who grew up in drug-infested, gang-infested, South Central L.A., born in 1969, grew up during the crack era ... [and] raised by a single, teenage Buddhist mother," Baucham said.

"I'm also an American who, as an expat in a foreign country, I've been to dozens of countries in the world. And there are two things I know: One, black people in America are the freest and most prosperous black people in the world. Period. Bar none," he asserted. "And the second thing is this: people outside of America just think that we are the most oppressed people in the world. People actually think that things like George Floyd are happening every day. That they're not an anomaly. But that they're commonplace ... it sickens me. It saddens me ... the reputation that black people have, that somehow we are weak and impotent, and that we can't do or be anything unless white people do it for us. Which, by the way, is kind of racist."

Dr. Baucham emphasized that black Americans are "some of the strongest people in the history of the world."

It takes perspective to understand this. This man lives outside the USA, he saw the real world and the weight of history elsewhere - so he knows reality. It took the same for me to truly understand what America was about.

So only 6.5% are “blacks”. The rest are mongrels like many other Americans, including myself (part native American, Irish, Scandinavian, French and parts unknown).

We need more black voices of sanity and realism. Unfortunately the Left will try to destroy him or even kill him. They fear strong men and women of faith and most destroy them at all costs.

Someone guard this gentleman!

Without decades of claiming victims of slavery and racisim what would unite them?

Someone guard this gentleman!

See the highlighted info below, but more importantly I firmly believe he has the "Hand of God" on his life and that is far more important for his safety and the safety of his family.

Dr. Voddie T. Baucham, Jr.

Voddie Baucham wears many hats. He is a husband, father, former pastor, author, professor, conference speaker, and church planter. He currently serves as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia.

Voddie makes the Bible clear and demonstrates the relevance of God’s word to everyday life. However, he does so without compromising the centrality of Christ and the gospel. Those who hear him preach find themselves both challenged and encouraged.

Voddie’s area of emphasis is Cultural Apologetics. Whether teaching on classical apologetic issues like the validity and historicity of the Bible, or the resurrection of Christ; or teaching on biblical manhood/womanhood, marriage and family, he helps ordinary people understand the significance of thinking and living biblically in every area of life.

It is impossible to understand Voddie’s approach to the Bible without first understanding the path he has walked. Raised in a non-Christian, single-parent home, Voddie did not hear the gospel until he was in college. His journey to faith was a very unusual and intellectual one. Consequently, he understands what it means to be a sceptic, and knows what it’s like to try to figure out the Christian life without relying on the traditions of men. As a result, he speaks to ‘outsiders’ in ways few Bible teachers can.

Dr. Baucham holds degrees from Houston Baptist University (BA in Christianity/BA in Sociology), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min.), an honorary degree from Southern California Seminary (D.D.), and additional post-graduate study at the University of Oxford, England (Regent’s Park College).

Voddie and his wife, Bridget have been married since 1989. They have nine children: Jasmine, Trey (Voddie, III), Elijah, Asher, Judah, Micah, Safya, Amos, and Simeon. The Bauchams are committed home educators.

Away from the pulpit and the classroom, Voddie is also a voice actor, lending his voice to films like George Washington Carver: An Uncommon Way, and the 2017 national theatrical release, Genesis: Paradice Lost, and an accomplished Martial Artist. He took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 as an avenue of self-defence training, personal fitness, and outreach. However, he began competing and found both a passion and a talent. He has won numerous tournaments and titles, including winning the 2014 Pan American Championship in his division.

African Christian University

ACU seeks to transform Africa through a biblical worldview based education to the glory of God. Operating under a group of Reformed Baptist Churches in Zambia, ACU is committed to glorifying God, our sovereign Creator, displaying His grace through love in serving the church and larger community by equipping students to wholeheartedly serve God through developing the spiritual, physical and intellectual gifts that He has given to them.
