Atlanta police just walked off the job in zone 6, 7, and 3....they are turning in their keys and quitting their jobs.

Not to worry. I’m sure the Mayor’s security detail is still on the job.

I’m sure the wives and children of these officers had something to do with this as well. How can you let your father take the risk of a death sentence for defending their own lives on the job? There’s no enough money in the world to outweigh that kind of risk.

Good on them. It is sad that they have to do this to make a point.
When the perp is resisting arrest, the use of force criteria should widen rapidly. Cops sign up for a certain level of risk. When politicians dramatically increase that level of risk by bringing down the judicial system on them for political points, it is time to walk away.

Hell, I’d call in sick until they fired me.@@@@@@@@

Corona Flu - 14 days quarantine policy may be w pay. Then sick leave then vacation and maybe even FMLA for Spouse/children anxiety. This might even be paid.

Could be a sixty day paid leave at Lib expense while city falls apart while seeking a new career in a new city.

I don’t mind the shooting; it’s the clean-up that’s a pain in the ass.

This was far too predictable; the officers who don’t resign are assuming huge, new risks they’re not being paid for. It’s now a personal liability to take the job - over and above “simply risking their lives”.

I have deleted my tweet about two zones walking out on the Atlanta police force. Three officers confirmed, but it does not appear to be an organized action by the police. It appears to be buzzing that it is happening, but the buzz is being treated as fact without confirmation.

You must live in Texas or west of Atlanta.

> Good for them, the murder charge is evil. <

The cop is charged with capital murder. So the death penalty is a possibility. Even if one thinks the cop did wrong, no reasonable person could possibly call it capital murder.

This charge is a hard slap in the face to every Atlanta cop.

That’s what should happen, throughout the country. This murder charge is wrong.

Cops, just refuse to go into areas where Whites are not welcome.

The fight for our right to defend ourselves begins.

This will hopefully be a start to a declaration that all citizens are free to arm themselves and defend themselves lawfully regardless of what the liberals have to say on the subject.

This was the meaning I was looking at when President Trump included that statement about protecting our Second Amendment rights during a speech a while back.

When people are told they cannot defend themselves, especially officers who are routinely faced with threats, something has to give.

When people are maliciously prosecuted by their government for defending themselves, Revolution is called for, IMO.

Does anyone know if the cops knew about his record prior to the attempt to handcuff him?

Word earlier was that every officer in four zones drove their cars back to the precinct and went home. This is what Erick is saying needs confirmation.

I do not see a "zone 7" on the APD zone map...
