Citing a robust collection of federal and state case law, a New York State Bar Association task-force group on Thursday said it should be mandatory for all Americans to have a COVID-19 vaccination, when one is available, including those who won’t want it for “religious, philosophical or personal reasons.”

I look at the bullshit going on in this country right now and see how close we are teetering on the edge of totalitarianism and I’ll be damned if I comply it—nor am I kneeling to anyone.
Lastly, if we are going to head into totalitarianism we had better find our Pinochet fast cause we are going to need someone willing to do what it takes
So far I’ve avoided every flu shot and this will be no exception.... and I’ll do that even if they try to give me assurance that no babies were killed in the making of the ‘vaccine’.

There is truth to your comment and will certainly reject a mandatory vaccine. However, if it means no buying or selling without it, you’re stuck and an alternative action would be required.

What I’ve been wondering about this C19 is its really narrow kill box coupled with its ease of transmission and otherwise seeming harmlessness among most people. I know many sickly 80 somthings who are hiding in their basements for 3 months now. Are they permanently threatened or will herd immunity or mutation of the virus lift the threat?

I am just besides myself over a situation related to this. We have an 84-year-old relative living in a very upscale retirement community. This cost around $280k buy-in (plus rent, meals, etc extra) 15 years ago, The buy-in is the actual assisted-living portion when & if that is required and can be spent in increments. Good clinic, recovery options, as well and full recreational facilities.
Our relative has co-morbidities related to hyper-kyphosis from osteoporosis. In short, she has a postural limitation on her ability to breathe. This causes some physical changes in the lungs and she is on 24/7 oxygen. Otherwise, she is cogent and with-it. I believe there has been some cardiac changes from the Chronic Restrictive Pulmonary Disease, but that’s the extent of her meds: BP, some anti-inflammatory nebulizer treatments for the lung issues.
They are on full lockdown even as WI opens. There is very limited social interaction except with staff. No visitors. No dining facilities open (food delivered). They are not helping with communication problems with the outside (phone system was changed and she’s tech-illiterate and after 2 months no one has bothered to connect her answering machine so we can at the least leave messages. She runs low-to-out of personal hygiene products....can’t go shopping.
She is bored and scared-on-purpose. Yes, she’s at-risk, but this is overtly cruel.
My major hope is this community is full of elderly professionals, lawyers and doctors among them. Most are active and in full possession of their faculties with children also in the professions. I am hoping they will begin pressuring the facility (residence is voluntary and very expensive)to open up, with common-sense practices where required.
I don’t think the facility is doing anything malign and they do seem to think they are acting in the resident’s best interests. We think (can’t get a concrete answer) they are *allowed* to use the lovely gardens and atrium in the complex. I hope enough retired clinicians can begin to bring some expertise to bear, but I don’t know how many are computer-literate or have access to information beyond TV.
It’s the social isolation that is concerning and the overt denial of autonomy. We call often, but it makes her feel worse, because nothing is happening where she is and she has little to talk about concerning her own life.

The citizens of this country are being pushed to this very point. Its going to happen. I will never answer this openly other than saying its going to happen.
