Excuse me, but what was is record as a Congressman? If he was 100% Supporting Trump and he got defeated because he officiated at a gay wedding, that is stupid. I know you hate me for saying this, but we need to get pass the gay issue as it will not be a winner with my generation. My generation wants to lower taxes, more gun rights, but who the F cares if John Smith and John Doesn’t are in love? You older people didn’t grow up with it being open. Two conservative friends of mine, who will be voting Trump, are engaged. Let’s stop the antigay BS, or you’ll be driving yuth away.

ConservaTeen, I'm glad you're a conservative and on this board. You would do well to acquire some reading comprehension skills and learn some manners, though. I did not say anything about whether I was pleased with the result or not. Yet you accuse me of being anti-gay. You also have no idea how old I am, yet you accuse me of being old. There is a lot you can learn from people on this board, some of which you will agree with and some of which you will not, but you will not make many friends around here by being disrespectful.

Many people, old and young, find gay behavior offensive. If you and your friends do not, that's up to you. The gay population is something in the neighborhood of 4%, though they work like crazy to give the impression that it's much higher. At a time when liberals are trying to destroy the very fabric of our society, it seems silly for people to pick support or not for homosexuality as a litmus test for a candidate who is otherwise supportive of conservative causes. The Supreme Court has already established homosexuals as a class protected from discrimination, so there's nothing any political office holder could do to thwart homosexual rights.

That said, one running for office better know his or her constituents. Riggleman is in a very conservative, highly religious district. He essentially thumbed his nose at many of the constituents who voted him into office and yesterday they expressed their displeasure. Fortunately, it should be a safe seat for the new nominee.

I'll look forward to seeing more posts from you on the forum (minus the attitude).

If the personal behavior of the two John’s were the only thing at stake, you’d be right. But most Republicans also care about kids bring taught homosexuality and transgenderism in the public schools, whether doctors will be forced to do sex change operations, bakers will be forced to make gay wedding cakes, male soldiers will be at the mercy of homosexual commanding officers, etc. A congressman will have to vote on all these issues.

Not too many of us really did. That was until they started going after our kids. That is where we DRAW THE LINE, so please ask your generation to ‘pull back a bit’ and leave our children alone.

Interesting. I didn't know Meghan McCain had an account on FR! Hi, Meghan!

>> My generation wants to lower taxes, more gun rights, but who the F cares if John Smith and John Doesn’t are in love? <<

Actually, if you polled most "millennials", you'd probably find that "your generation" wants HIGHER taxes and LESS gun rights, in addition to gay marriage. Teens tend to be liberal and people over 50 tend to be conservative, and that hasn't changed throughout history. Fortunately the under 30 crowd tends not to vote, whereas senior citizens tend to vote very heavily, so society as a whole is not inflicted with foolish socialist dreams of the youth.

As history has shown, they will probably see the error of their ways and their views will "evolve" to be MORE conservative in a few decades.

But if you want to pull the "generation gap" on me, I was born in the early 80s, which puts me on the cusp right between Gen Xer and Millennial. I have vehemently opposed the insane concept that two men can be "married" my whole life, and my views will never change on that matter. So all the people blabbing about how "my generation" feels about this crap DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME.

God spoke on this issue. Once this country decides to embrace all manner and sort of immorality and degeneracy, as we are seeing at present, the country will soon collapse. We were designed as a nation for Godly people.
