You can not please the left simply because there is no single ideology of the “left”. What we call the left is made up of thousands of special interest groups that share only one thing in common, CONSERVATIVE AMERICA is evil and should be destroyed.
Trying to please the left is like walking blindfold through a mine field where there are millions of mines.
No matter how much you twist yourself to please the feminist the homosexuals the socialist the minorities the communist the environmentalist and so on... you can not safely make it from point a to point b.
Why, because each of these special interest groups have their own agenda, and these agendas are often 180 degree different then the next special interest group.
Your attempt to please one group only gets you in trouble with another.

I have SiriusXM Satellite Radio. When I am not listening to the Patriot Station, I am tuned in to one of several country music stations. When the Dixie Chicks play, I change the station. And now when Lady Antebellum plays, I will change the station. Unlike broadcast radio, which relies upon surveys to count the listening audience, SiriusXM counts listeners in real time, and so if enough of us tune out liberal PC scum, they will get the messsage.

When their original name means “pre-Civil War woman” I’m surprised they weren’t swallowed whole by the virtue signalling left a long time ago.
The blues singer Lady A is actually correct in saying this, which makes the virtue signaling of band Lady Antebellum all the more disappointing.
This is really taking the "woke" silliness to a whole new level. This is nothing but a lightweight "soft country" act whose string of hits would have been welcome on early 1980s adult contemporary radio. Air Supply with a twang. Nobody was ever accusing them of being insensitive just because they had "antebellum" in their band name.
They just figured they'd proactively "bend a knee" and show everybody how virtuous they are. Well this came back to bite them in the butt.

“Amtebellum” refers to an American historical era (1815-1861). One would think that this era, in which Marxism began, the words “socialism” and “Communism” were coined, and the Democratic Party formally adopted that name would be celebrated on the Left.

Very true. Unfortunately, here’s the lesson stupid “woke” folks will draw from the Lady Antebellum story: Lady Antebellum did not kowtow low enough. We must all learn to kowtow lower.

I will be in the minority here on this, I think.
First- wouldn’t you do a simple search online if you’re changing your name to see if it’s in use?
Second, the first Lady A has used that name for over 20 years- she’s got record releases etc. with that name.
Third- virtue signaling isn’t endearing to anyone.
It seems to me the first Lady A was right to resist having her name taken - even if she’s being rude about it.
