Fox News political analyst and Chicago native Gianno Caldwell called out the Democratic mayor of his hometown for abandoning the city's African-American residents, after Chicago experienced its single most violent day in six decades, amid protests and riots in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
"This is not a mayor who is for the people. This is not a mayor, who the African-Americans, who mostly put her in office, this is not who they picked," said Caldwell on "Fox and Friends" on Wednesday, blasting Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
"She is an elitist and she's proven it — time and time again," he argued. "And she's leaving the city residents unsafe."
Criticism of Lightfoot was amplified on June 5, after a recording of a May 31 conference call to discuss violent and destructive riots in the city was released by WTTW-TV.
In the audio, Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez tells Lightfoot, "Half our neighborhoods are already obliterated... we have to come up with a better plan because my fear is once they are done looting and rioting and whatever is going to happen tonight, God help us, what happens when they start going after residents?"

Trump is a genius, just let the liberals let the rioters burn their own cities down, until the non-rioters have had enough and kick the whole lot out of office to restore order.
And as I side benefit, hopefully Covid-19 will take out a lot of the rioters.

I have a feeling that even the Combine is going to get sick of Chicago’s Extraterrestrial-in-Chief. After all, how is Mike MADigan going to keep his power going if his main demographic source of tax revenue is burning to the ground?

I didn’t like Richard J. Daley, but at least he was a competent Mayor.
She will not be Governor, she has more power as Mayor.
Different times. Though in essentially expelling Daley from the Democrat party, they put many major US cities, many then like Chicago long term Democrat strongholds, on a half century plus path of decline. Our urban areas weren’t financial disasters in the 60s.
Caldwell may be referring to the fact that Lightfoot posed as a moderate while campaigning to attract votes. Once in office, however, she unleashed her inner radicalism and dictatorial ambitions.
Her abusive behavior towards subordinates is well known now.
While arsonist were burning the city, her residence was protected by 180 police officers (the same coppers that she frequently condemns).
They would vote for her again in overwhelming numbers. Orange man bad, re-elect groot.
The only good news is that inevitably all of these various leftist factions will start fighting each other.
