Through the tumultuous months of COVID-19 and protests following the death of George Floyd, we have seen the worst in humanity. Every so often, however, a story breaks through the mainstream media of the very best in humanity. One teenager in Buffalo, New York gives us hope for the future.
18-year-old Antonio Gwynn felt compelled to help his community after watching some of the destruction that occurred during protests on Facebook Live. In the middle of the night, at 2 am, Gwynn went to the vandalized town with cleaning supplies and spent the next 10 hours undoing the mess left by protesters.
The young man credits his late mother for his big heart and the need to help his community, saying its something she would have done. When Matt Block, a complete stranger, heard about Gwynns actions, he decided to gift the 18-year-old with his 2004 Mustang convertible. I couldnt come to grips with selling it, and this was a good way for me to get rid of it and know someone that gets it is going to appreciate it, I think, said Block.
When news spread, Briceland Insurance Agency offered to give Gwynn one year of car insurance for his new ride. Gwynns planted seeds continued to grow; Medaille College offered him a full-ride scholarship for college. I literally stopped, pulled over, and started crying
so did my great aunt. My little cousin did also, said Gwynn.

We should remember these acts of kindness for what they are.
I have to believe there are more Antonio’s than street goons destroying businesses and cities. Good for this young man. I wish him well......
I agree. The agitators were paid for an outcome the MSM allowed them to get the recognition they sought. The city, state and nation is far worse off because of it.
Nothing justifies such actions. Nothing.

doesn’t look like a “teen” to me.
So? I dont look like Im 60 (more like 45 and actually got carded at a liquor store 5 years ago). Everyone ages differently. His age has no relevance to his deed.
Same here. a week ago I was carded for booze even though I told her Im 39 due to my laziness to show my DR LIC and she still didnt believe me. Im not offended one bit.
Teens have less time to age!
Full ride to a leftist indoctrination center.
Second prize is two full rides. Give the man the money.
My folks owned a grocery store as I was growing up. I'd occasionally card older ladies that I knew just to make them smile.
Good call. :) A year ago, an old lady (we were sure she was around 70) bought 1 wine bottle and the clerk STILL carded her. Obviously she had to ransack her purse for ID for 10 minutes but it was overkill..until one dude in front of me yelled
“for crying out loud, she’s older than all of us combined here!’ XD
There a lot of locations or chain stores that require an ID scan for alcohol, 100%, regardless of age.
The booze place I go to, they know Im a regular and past 18 (obviously) so they just input a bogus birth date for the system, and never in 2 years did I show my ID unless they have a new employee.
The other place I go to the clerks just make up a birth date. WHY? They’re tired of asshole customers giving them a hard time on ID, and I understand it. If the guy has white hair due to age, why card? Seen this multiple times..
I was still getting carded when I was 30. Now they’d have to raise the drinking age to about 60.
I wonder if Antonio had been white, if he still would have gotten a scholarship and accolades?
“doesnt look like a teen to me.”
I agree, saw this guy on the news and thought that’s the oldest teen I’ve ever seen. He’s 30 yo if he’s a day. Maybe he’s getting his GED?
Probably not. But that is hard to tell from what was written. It was more than one person helping him. He makes a good example for the herd. Instead of the example that the BLM and Antifa crowd does.
You have a point there. But I do know a student who graduated from Harvard Law School, he was a Republican. (He was my son-in-law for 14 years) He was not as far to the right as I am politically. He currently lives near DC. My daughter and grandson live in N. VA. I cannot wait to find a way to bring them home to Texas.
worked in an am pm....it looks stupid asking an 70 year old for id but when you make it mandatory for the clerk to ask it removes all possibility of an employee not asking some one who looks to be in there 30s but then turns out to be a 18-20 year plant by the bureau of fire arms and tobacco. having your license pulled to sell Alcohol can destroy a business and an owner does not want to take a risk that there employee messes up and loose the company there liqueur license.
OMG. I'd have died laughing.
THIS is the right type of activism.
