National Public Radio (NPR) posted a tweet Saturday urging every reader to begin decolonizing your bookshelf.
According to NPR, white voices have dominated what has been considered canon for eons. The public broadcaster advises fans to begin decolonizing your bookshelf by removing the works of white authors.

You’re going to end up with a pretty small bookshelf.
Sorry NPR. I will not purchase another tote bag from you ever again.
For a broadcaster who wants donations, you are pretty picky. What about Shakespeare?
LOL!
Masterpiece Theater will never be the same.
Start with Karl Marx and Fredrich Engels, then Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Saul Alinsky, maybe even Hillary Clinton. That would be a good start!
It’s worse than a cult...it’s pure evil.
How long before we return to the days of book burnings?
Gays and white women will not sit on council. Anymore than the women are hangers on and the Gays are invisible in the riots. They will be next. Dopes.

Check this out. I reported this channel for hate speech on Youtube. Youtube did nothing.
This channel supposed to be talking about chickens. They talk about mostly about how colonies are bacteria. Bacteria needs to be detoxed and purged. Gets creepy at 33:00. before this all he talks about is how bad human colonies are. at 28:00 "honestly the only reason we're still here no on hates us bad enough to obliterate us."
From the NPR article:
“Still, I can’t help but wonder whether some people have considered that, at a basic level, the homogeneous nature of their personal library and what that represents is a part of the problem.”
Yes I have - and no it isn’t.
I buy books because the topic or author interests me, or I want to be challenged by by the subject to author.. Everything from David Korn and Molly Ivins to V.D. Hanson and James Sharra. Probably the best autobiography I have ever read is the
“Life and Times of Frederick Douglass”.
Someone mentioned books burnings up thread. Based on what the author of this article on NPR thinks, I believe the author is closer to that position than he may realize.
Hummm...where have I've seen this before?
Why not just say READ LESS?
It’s pretty simple...after the 7th grade, no one should be reading much of anything, and we could downsize libraries to just artsy books, and stuff on poetry.

since we are defunding police let’s throw NPR on that fire also.
If there were any authors of color with the literary quality of Dickens or Dante or Dostoyevsky, I would read their works. Until then, I will stick to the classics.
nPR was established by congress and most of it’s member stations are owned by public universities.
Which means we can turn them off. Until they have a non-biased format instead of promoting racism and cultural genocide.
NPR will be defunded.
When will all the white npr staff remove themselves? Thought so.
