California Democratic state Sen. Scott Wiener tweeted Thursday that he would not accept any contributions to his reelection campaign from law enforcement unions and would donate those he's gotten so far to nonprofits "serving at-risk youth of color" -- but his opponent, also a Democrat, replied that his commitment was not enough and included "loopholes."
Wiener told Fox News that he is donating $20,000 received from six separate law enforcement union organizations. The groups include the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, Peace Officers Research Association of California PAC, California Correctional Peace Officers Association PAC, California Statewide Law Enforcement Association, Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs State PAC and the State Coalition of Probation Organizations PAC.
"I’m donating all contributions to my reelection campaign from law enforcement unions to SF & Daly City nonprofits serving at-risk youth of color. Our policing/criminal justice system is broken & needs drastic change. I want to be very clear about where I stand in this fight," Wiener tweeted Thursday.

There oughtta be a law that when politicians make stupid obvious pandering statements to capitalize on the outrage of the day such as these two clowns, they are guilty of felony of obvious butt kissing stupidity and serve a mandatory minimum of 3 years in prison as someone’s beatch.
The police needs to walk way and stop protecting these anti-cop freaks.
Red Wiener won’t have to worry about any more police organization donations. I think they’ve learn their lessons now.

Unfortunately, police unions are a two-edged sword.
Many of them bring much more grief than aid to the local citizenry.
Not talking about the guys on the lower end; talking about the guys at the top end who have become freaking politicians working inside the police-unions, as it were.
REAL coffee? The type that doesn’t come out of the cup for several seconds if you hold the cup upside down?
The coffee that “puts hair on your chest” as my Grand-Dad would say.
