Nike released a simple but powerful ad Friday evening following the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis earlier this week. The footwear company posted a minute-long ad with white text over a black screen on its Instagram urging people not to turn your back on racism and instead be part of the change. "For once, Don't Do It, the text read, playing on Nikes popular slogan. Don't pretend there's not a problem in America.
Don't turn your back on racism. Don't accept innocent lives being taken from us. Don't make any more excuses. Don't think this doesn't affect you. Don't sit back and be silent. Don't think you can't be part of the change. Let's all be part of the change." Nikes stance on the issue comes after several athletes joined a nationwide movement to publicly condemn the officers involved in Floyds death. Floyd was killed as Minneapolis police officers had him in custody Monday.
A video appeared to show one officer with a knee on Floyds neck as he screamed for help and that he was having trouble breathing. Floyd later died. Violent protests have since erupted throughout the nation.

Don’t do it, Nike. Don’t exploit a tense socio-political situation for your own profits. Oop. Too late.
Screw Nike. They are a bunch of progressive POS. They do not know real America.
Horse crap.
And maybe call Obama and let him talk about his “typical white woman” grandmother.
There was a guy complaining that, in the riots, some black properties were being destroyed. In effect saying, destroying white businesses is understandable (even though they had NOTHING) to do with this. But destroying black businesses, well, that is not acceptable. Now tell me again where the racism is.
“For once, Don’t Do It,
Don’t sit back and be silent.
and here I thought they would advise “don’t riot”. Blame Nike for fueling them.
Don’t resist arrest? Don’t put your knee on another person’s neck? Or,perhaps, both?
Don’t loot?

Professional athletes denounced the Hong Kong protesters and sucked up to Chinese dictatorship.
FUNike
Yes there is a problem in the US. It's you Nike and your ilk destroying cities, and ruining the lives of innocent people.
Or as the looters say, “who’s this George Floyd guy you folks keep talkin’ ‘bout?”
Meanwhile Nike makes its profits by exploiting the labor of poor people in other countries.
Nike’s gone full steam ahead on its ‘woke’ ad campaign targeted at urban youths. It is what it is.
Maybe they should fire Colin K.
When I saw the headline that is what I was hoping they meant. Don’t riot. FU Nike!
“Don’t pretend there’s not a problem in America.”
Ohhhh, there’s a problem, alright, Nike.
Nike should either give away shoes to the rioters so they can run away faster, or run ads showing the address of every store that sells Nike products so the looters know where to go next.
Hope this does not affect the Nike line of workboots.
Nuck Fike
maybe they could have run an ad showing a black guy reaching for a purse with a line thru it and “Don’t Do It”. They could make a whole series of such ads one showing a black guy raping a woman with a line thru it and “Don’t Do It”, another with a scene of a drive-by shooting with a line thru it and “Don’t do it”. I would be far more likely to give them some credit for taking on a problem head-on.
Nike is scum.
