Yesterday I was helping a restaurant manager arrange his tables to comply with Arizona’s “social distancing” order. I was wearing a mask, as it is our company policy when dealing with customers. I also wear one when I go to the Wall Mart or local grocery store.
Anyway, this older woman walks up and says to us, after bantering about the ridiculous rules, “That’s ok, I understand.. You’re just sheep, following other sheep off the cliff”
I bet we vote for the same people. Enough already. I’m not curtailing anyone’s freedoms by wearing the mask. I don’t tell her what to do, I don’t tell anyone what to do except my employees - and I’m not about to tell them to violate our company policy for 10 seconds of superiority.
I’ve heard the micron measurements over and over. I know a stupid mask doesn’t filter out Covid virus, but I do think it limits the droplets of our breath from traveling too far. It reduces the viral load.
You can agree or disagree. It’s ok. But I think our side is quickly becoming the Karen’s we all hate so much. You do you. Don’t call me a godamned sheep. Karen!
Good points. Part of my approach to life is not to give other people a hard time. I respect businesses and I respect the rules of a business (or shop elsewhere). I don’t like a lot of rules from my government — but I can take that up with them, and I can vote.
I think Conservatives make a mistake when we try to shame people on the mask issue. It just perpetuates the game we’re trying not to play.
So, when do you believe you will stop wearing a mask? Will droplets ever cease expelling from orafices?
So, did you wear a mask before the C-19 virus outbreak? If not, why not?
KAREN
Virtue signaling is especially shameful when the right does it. We don't need these condescending twerps on our side.
Understood, however which side is coercing the other? Americans standing up to tyranny should be applauded, not chastened
“Ive heard the micron measurements over and over. I know a stupid mask doesnt filter out Covid virus, but I do think it limits the droplets of our breath from traveling too far. It reduces the viral load.”
Exactly.
Stand 20 feet from a candle and blow, in 2 or 3 seconds you will see the candle flame flicker. Now try it with a mask and you won’t be able to make the candle flicker from 6 inches away. That’s what the mask accomplishes, it reduces how far you can infect people.
I really wish people wouldn’t politicizing this, it makes our side look really stupid. Just like the Left politicizing HCQ makes them look stupid.
I agree. Anyone with two or more brains cells can figure out that even a crappy dust mask will reduce the viral load coming and going. I wear a mask in retail establishments, and while half the other people there aren't, I don't take it personally. Neither should they.
Totally agree with you! And you’re right about the masks and their purpose. Further, if a private business chooses to enforce a mask policy, we of all people should respect that. Private businesses make the rules for themselves; that’s the ESSENCE of private property rights! Don’t like it? Don’t shop there.
You are correct. There is no doubt that they help in certain situations. The arguments against masks are reasonable too, but the arguments for them are factual.
