Trump is like The Great One in that he believes the impossible is possible.
..... never tell an American that it cant be done.
The famous empty cities.
Don’t know enough about them to know what’s going on.
Just reading that has gotten me mad enough to take on a new challenge.
we Americans are incorrigible :)

“They are not communists.
They are the perfection of fascism.”
That is correct. Just because the ruling party still calls itself “communist”, they are anything but.
They are a single party, nationalist dictatorship who have understood the value of capitalism and have learned to exploit it for their benefits.
They are a much more formidable adversary than any truly communist economic basket case, such as the USSR.
Also because they let capitalism thrive and thus allowed the people standard of living improve tremendously, they have a strong level of support of their people.
NO!!!! We’re a force for evil meddling with “regime change” around the world. What we need to do is disengage with China. If that or something else leads to regime change for the better in China, then of course we would welcome that.
RE: What we need to do is disengage with China.
Does this mean we let Hong Kong and Taiwan fend on their own without any aid?
If all countries would buy items from any country except China it would plant the seed of change,China’s war machine needs one thing to exist MONEY.
Taiwan IMO is not part of China. And Hong Kong is on the UK.
Communists have long been proven in the real world to be fascististic and then some. Contrary to there being a withering of the state, there is nothing but the state, which other than elaborate illusion is pretty much where China is.
The USSR didn't work. The PRC is working too well.
Eventually, they will run into trouble as Japan did, but it won't be like the Soviet Union was.
Plus, if this guy thinks that taking in refugees from Hong Kong is going to help topple China's regime, he obviously doesn't know what he is talking about.
If he wants regime change, the people who are going to promote it have to be there, not here.
We've done a lot of underestimating ourselves down through the years.
That looks pretty modern to me.
I also saw some images of China from the area that was infected and the cars were recent and new and nice.
They have a lot of people so yeah I assume there are some still quite poor areas.
But the change seems staggering overall
Because that's worked so well for us in the past?
They are more likely to change our regime than we are to change theirs.
They may be well along in that effort...as we are teetering on the knifes edge. They found it very easy to find a large cohort of our own people and politicians who are more than willing to sell us out for a fine luxury lifestyle. We are becoming a nation of criminals and sell outs at the top end of our government and economy. The Chinese figured that out very early in their ascension.
Now, the only thing that can preserve us is a bottom up revolution that will itself end the shell-illusion of superpower.
China has largely abandoned Marxist economics, except as a management tool for rural areas. But they have kept and inflamed the authoritarian nationalism of the old Empire, morphing it into a modernized fascism that Western Deep States greatly envy.
There remains a deep division, however, between the industrialists of the coastal cities and the political class in Beijing. The former are not happy with Xi Jinping for injuring the Golden Goose of foreign trade. Are they powerful enough to topple him - and the CCP with him?
A CCP willing to spread a virus to the whole world to avoid its own destruction would be equally willing to march millions of its peasant supporters into the coastal cities to carry out a replay of the Cultural Revolution, so I wouldn't bet on it.
The essence of communism is no private ownership.
China today has more billionaires than just about any other country and consumption is all the vogue. They’ve taken to capitalism with a vengeance.
This is the last place on earth that Marx would call communist.
It’s a single party, nationalistic dictatorship where the party let’s free enterprise run loose as long as it toes the party line. Basically fascism.
Japanese Army already tried that. And failed.
