Stacey Abrams is the Democrats’ Sarah Palin
The Washington Post ^ | May 19, 2020 | Marc A. Thiessen

Stacey Abrams is running a less-than-subtle campaign to be Joe Biden’s vice-presidential running mate. Republicans should hope she succeeds. If selected, she would displace Sarah Palin as the least-qualified person ever to serve on a major-party ticket.

Biden should understand this, because he saw firsthand how much damage Palin’s selection did to then-Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the Republican presidential nominee in 2008. Preelection polls showed that 6 out of 10 Americans said Palin was not qualified for the job, and a Stanford University study found that she cost McCain more than 2 million votes.

Palin was the first Republican rock star. No one else drew in the deplorables, until Trump.

Stacy Abrams is at least three maybe four Sarah Palins...........in girth, yet for all her bulk she isn’t eaqual to one tenth of the actual Sarah Palin, even with all the baggage Palin accumulated since Mclaim’s peoples charachter assassination.

The primary attraction of Stacy Abrams to democrats is that she makes Michelle Obama look good in comparison. Can’t wait to see the live Bush over Stacy s toned arms. And those outfits!!!!

...he saw firsthand how much damage Palin’s selection did to then-Sen. John McCain...

Yeah, McCain saw how much more popular Palin was than him.

Let’s see, Palin was a successful governor, destroyed by the press and Abrams is a failed gubernatorial candidate propped up by the press... Yeah... Same thing, sure.

Stacy is a pathetic excuse of a candidate for anything. This delusional racist fat slob should return to well-deserved obscurity .

You have to admit, Stacey has gravitas.

I would say she has her own gravity field.

Stacy Abrams got lost in Atlanta so she pulled over and asked a guy, “How do I get to 285?’ He looked at her and replied, “Diet and exercise”.

Palin's run as a national political figure was mishandled, first by McCain's wrecking crew, especially Nicole Wallace, then by Palin herself. The key missing element was that Palin did not visibly demonstrate policy competence and the application of conservative ideas at the national level. This left her handicapped by a false public image as a preening, clueless lightweight with a family that was a gift to the tabloids.

This was grossly unfair to Palin, who deserved far better. She needed consistent, trustworthy professional coaching and the support of the institutional GOP. Instead, Palin was treated like she was an Eskimo shoved onto an ice floe and abandoned to the mercies of the Arctic seas.

I have made this analogy before.

No, of course Abrams CAREER and ACHIEVEMENTS are not comparable.

But, as a symbol, she means to THEM what Palin meant to US.

Without Palin, the 2008 election is a 49 state landslide like Reagan-Mondale in 1984.

It is amazing to see a person who has done nothing force her way in to the run for VP and no one will try to stop her. In fact the usual suspects want her three.

Kind of like forcing a candidate on us who has early onset dementia, enriched his family using his office, stopped his son’s investigation and is a serial groper of girls and women.
