Former Vice President and the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is looking to expand the number of swing states in play in this Novembers election, targeting Republican-leaning states in his bid to unseat President Donald Trump.
Alongside traditional battleground states like Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, and New Hampshire the former three of which Trump won in 2016 the Biden presidential campaign believes it can bring traditionally reliable GOP states into play, like Texas, Georgia, and Arizona, which hold a combined 65 electoral votes, or nearly a quarter of the 270 needed to win the election.
Jen OMalley Dillon, a Biden campaign manager, told reporters Friday that the campaign would be focused both on winning back Democratic-leaning states which Trump flipped in 2016 like Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania as well as traditional battleground states like Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.
But OMalley Dillon added that the campaign is also eyeing Republican strongholds like Texas, Georgia, and Arizona to broaden the electoral map in play.

Bite Me is looking for the path to the exit door.
I am sure he is looking.
Of course that’s what they want to do. But do they not realize that the candidate and policies matter? First of all, Biden is incapable of running an ordinary campaign and if it wasn’t for COVID he would have already been replaced. And as far as policies, imagine having to campaign as being in favor of economic shutdowns, friendly terms with Communist China, and open borders and monthly payments to illegal immigrants. In a normal world, the Democrats wouldn’t win single electoral vote.
You mispelled presumptuous.
With the governors of those states doing what they are doing, the democRATS will be lucky if they get 20% of the votes in those states.
That is why the vote by mail scam.
BTW, Biden might not be the nominee. And if the establishment of that party goes with another in the convention, that will REALLY make the Bernie bros go nuts.
Milwaukee will be in line for a complete rebuilding if it goes that way.
I don’t believe I’ve ever read a headline more deserving of a...
Duh.
Didn’t Bloomie win the Marshall Islands?
Maybe he would be willing to go campaign there.
Must not feel confident that he can flip all three...
Too bad Yogi Berra isn’t around to comment, he was a good ball player and hitter with runners in scoring position and a confusing philosopher for us unlearned wretches(but not as confused as Handy Joe) .
The reopening guidance that Trump released gives them all the cover they need. Regardless, by November the states will be open and the economy will still be trashed, unemployment will still be north of 15%, the 2020 deficit will still be pushing $6 trillion, and Covid-19 will still likely be around. Trump needs to address that.
BTW, Biden might not be the nominee.
Amazing how many people are scared to death of Biden and hanging their hopes on him being replaced. He won't be.
Time will tell. It's still "The economy, stupid" and Trump's economy, thanks to Covid-19, is not doing very well. Trump has to run against that.
Biden has zero chance of flipping NC, OH or FL
I think youve got it backwards. I know I, for one, am scared that he will be replaced by someone who is, or at least is perceived to be, more competent and appealing. Right now weve got the closest thing we can get to Hilary 2.0 without HC actually being the nominee again.
Make it a referendum on china and globalism.
Why do articles never talk about Trump putting their states in play? Always the same crap.
Archangel Azrael is busy. Spook already in place who will do the job at the right time. A few ccs is all that’s needed.
Trump can still win if Joe wins PA, MI, and WI.
"It's the economy, stupid." Someone beat an incumbent president with that strategy. And Trump is running with the worst unemployment since Herbert Hoover. He can try to distract with China and globalism, and it may please his base, but it's not going to matter to a lot of people hurt by Covid and the economic crash.
If Trump can win 2 out of 3: FL, OH, and PA. That is a good start to the night.
Florida neither. The Panhandlers and Cubans will outweigh the dead people.
