Much of the mainstream media either downplayed or completely ignored the newly released list of top Obama officials who had requested the unmasking of former national security advisor Michael Flynn.
After acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell declassified the controversial requests to identify Flynn in surveilled communications he had with the Russian ambassador, Congress made the list public on Wednesday and several prominent figures appeared to have been involved in the unmasking, including former Vice President Joe Biden, former FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Director John Brennan, former DNI James Clapper, former U.N. ambassador Samantha Power, former Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, and former White House chief of staff Denis McDonough.
However, there was scarce coverage of the breaking news across the media landscape.

What concerns me about the unmasking document, is two things. First all of the NATO officials. Second are the concurrence of certain dates were multiple requests were made.
Why were NATO officials interested in spying on Flynn? Were they passing along information to NATO “allies” for political purposes?
Why were all those inquiries made on the same few days by so many people? It is almost as if there was a meeting where something was discussed and many at the meeting wanted to verify what was discussed for themselves to make sure that whatever conspiracy they were agreeing to could be verified.
I think the real key to figuring this out will be to figure out who was at the meetings, who called them and then look for some notes of minutes from the meeting.
I predict Trump holds a presser today and indicts them by their silence.
I suspect the average person will hear “masking” and wonder what’s so awful about it, no matter who is asking?
The GOP needs someone to explain in a short clear manner where any crime may be indicated.
Kellyanne or Lindsay Graham may be able to do it. I wish the Vice President would get more involved. Don’t leave it all to the President.
Some might say Ronan Farrow is today’s equivalent to those reporters.

The left already has their hot take on this, and that is every person on the list was authorized to ask for the unmasking. Thus, nothingburger.
You almost have to say they are right, until there’s an actual arrest made. People can hoot and hollar all day long, but until there’s a perp walk, midnight raid, or arrest then what was accomplished? In fact, after this list was made public, what did the FBI do? They issued a warrant to Senator Burr and seized his phone. They went after more GOP, not any coup plotters.
