I am ashamed to admit this but I don’t clearly understand what “unmasked” means in this case.
The word, I DO understand, means removing a mask.
Should I understand that somehow all this stuff going on with Flynn was covered up but a whole bunch of people wanted him revealed so he could be found guilty of something?
Wish I could grasp all this deep state stuff.

The media will downplay this and act as if it is NOT important.
The problem is that so many people had access to the unmasking, it is impossible to prove which one leaked.
Unfortunately, if only one or two sought the data (and then shared it), it would be easier to point blame.
Wonder if they all looked independently to protect each other assuming this list would ultimately come out?

In discussions with investigators, both DOJ’s Mary McCord and Comey conspicuously cite this Ignatius column as somehow meaningful in the approach they would take with Flynn. “Nothing, to my mind, happens until the 13th of January, when David Ignatius publishes a column that contains a reference to communication Michael Flynn had with the Russians. That was on the 13th of January,” Comey said of the column that ran online on January 12. In fact, quite a bit had happened at the FBI prior to that leak, with much conversation about how to utilize the Logan Act against Flynn. “The newly declassified records show that 16 individuals made unmasking requests related to the incoming Trump national security adviser, and the list shows which officials received that sensitive information. It was not immediately clear which individuals made the requests, but those who received the unmasking information were laid out chronologically.”
So we know who RECEIVED the unmasking information but we don’t know who MADE the requests. It probably was the receiver of the information.
This doesn’t make sense the way people are interpreting it.
1. “foreign target is speaking to General Flynn and here’s the transcript”
2. Biden (and others) get the transcript but it has General Flynn redacted.
3. Biden and others request that the redaction be removed and viola they see General Flynn’s name.
This can’t be how it went down because:
1. If they knew the foreign person was talking to Flynn before asking to remove the redaction, they didn’t need to ask.
2. If they didn’t know who the foreign person was speaking to until the redaction was removed, what are the chances that all these people ONLY asked about conversations that by coincidence Flynn was part of?
In this case, they must have asked for dozens if not hundreds of unmaskings and turned up many many Americans, including one or more mentions of Flynn.
3. The unmaskings surround other people that are included in the Flynn surveillance. Biden and co. got transcripts from the Flynn surveillance, and saw Flynn speaking to [REDACTED] American. They then asked to unmask that redaction which may have been his wife, Jared, or Donald or anyone.
STAY TUNED THERE IS MORE TO THIS STORY THAN BIDEN ASKING TO MAKE SURE THE TRANSCRIPT OF THE RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR CALL INCLUDED GENERAL FLYNN.
