German intelligence says China asked the WHO to help it cover up COVID-19

German intelligence officials say they have obtained evidence that the Chinese government asked the World Health Organization to help it cover up the coronavirus outbreak in a finding that is sure to place no small amount of renewed pressure on Beijing.
In fact, Chinese President Xi Jinping personally asked the World Health Organization to delay the release of critical information early in the outbreak, German intelligence officials conclude.
Xi met with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on January 21 to request that he withhold information about human-to-human transition and delay the declaration of a global pandemic, according to German magazine Der Spiegel.

Well, facts are stubborn things.
By any past measure, the CCP’s decision to lie about human-to-human transmission, and then deliberately keep Wuhan open to the world while closing it off from China was itself an act of war.
We’ve been attacked. Same goes for Europe and the rest of the world, but the US was the primary target.
I don’t want to see a thermonuclear war start, but the US and the world must respond. We can’t just let them shrug their shoulders and say “my bad”.
The Chinese are lying to us?? If only I had pearls so I could clutch them!
China’s action weaponized the Wuhan Flu. China can not be trusted with any type of weaponry. The world must isolate China.
So China made sure that we wouldn’t know when a deadly virus was headed toward us. I say we don’t let them know when our nukes are leaving the launch tubes on the sub parked off their coast, and call it even.

I think all of this finger-pointing at China is a distraction from the real question:
Why did American citizens allow Leftist bureaucrats, politicians and fake news pundits to turn this pandemic scare into an excuse for marshal law?
Another way to frame the issue is this: Even though food, medicine, energy and other critical supplies are always a matter of life and death, American citizens never saw that as a reason to allow the government to seize control of production, and to allocate supplies according to which citizens are essential and which are non-essential.
No, that is called Marxism - and we have long ago rejected that approach in favor of free enterprise and a constitutional republic. Free individuals making choices is what governs our society - the marketplace of supplies (and ideas) is far more successful than bureaucrats with PHDs . Why? Because Marxism doesn’t work. It lacks the experimentation, innovation and risk-taking that only a free people engage in. Consensus thinking and bureaucratic group-think leads to a one-size-fits-all monoculture that is a devoid of imagination and recipe for failure.
So why did we let the government crack down on us over this particular pandemic scare, when 250 years of success have proven that our strength lies in our individual freedom, our innovation and our experimentation?
In past pandemic threats we didn’t submit to this kind of government crackdown. Clearly medical opinions vary greatly regarding whether Fauci’s extreme social distancing is the answer vs. evolution’s tried-and-true approach of exposure and natural herd immunity. Why weren’t individuals, localities and states allowed to follow a course of their choosing?
Since when does the central government get to have so much control over us? And since when is it so OK to suppress dissenting views?
I don’t care what your opinion is of social distancing vs herd immunity - why is there no healthy debate? Where did the government get the right to force us to close our businesses, stay in our homes and decide what is essential.

To your larger point, these globalists have been looking for any excuse to create panic and destroy our Constitutional Republic and small (d) democratic institutions. And the prog teachers in public schools have conditioned at least two generations into believing that everything about America is wrong, while simultaneously depriving them of an education in Civics. It's a perfect black swan/ wolf in sheep's clothing/sheep conglomeration with which to push the neo-fuedalist agenda.

Yes, the education system is failing us badly. Too many voters have no clue what is at stake when they vote, because their teachers had no clue.
Sometimes I think of it as a war of ideas that we are losing because the enemy is better organized and more aggressive.
But mostly I think of it as something lost out of stupidity, that can never be built again. Like when you see a beautiful ancient building being torn down to make room for a parking garage or highway.
If Trump had fired Fauci, the media would have gone bananas and painted Fauci as the ‘savior against the virus’, and then blamed every Covid case on Trump.

But what is the character of China?
Is it a lazy panda, or a stinging hornet?
Does it passively sit back, preferring to live and let live, having equal regard for all nations and cultures?
Or does it deliberately send its operatives into every access point of our nation—infiltrating the thoroughfares of government, finance and media—metaphorically on the verge of plunging its CCP flag into our soil like some sort of deadly, virulent quill?
You have characterized China quite accurately. They want to dominate and we stand in their way.
But in the case in question (at least IMHO), this virus will turn out to be a big negative for China. For example, they will lose manufacturing capability as the West slowly but surely brings those jobs home or moves them to a friendlier and more trustworthy location.
So I guess I just don’t believe the Chinese are stupid enough to launch an uncontrollable attack on the U.S. and the rest of world based on some clever strategy. Particularly when that attack will kill hundreds of thousands if not millions of Chinese (also just my opinion - I think the Chinese are lying to us about their Coronavirus infections and deaths.)
