Why don't you answer the question you keep avoiding:

If you were walking down the street and someone came up to you brandishing a gun, would you just lay down and hope they don't kill you before the police come?

Is that a difficult to answer?

I open carry. So anyone pointing their gun at me nowing full well I have a gun would be suicidal. Which is why that would never happen. AN ARMED SOCIETY IS A POLITE SOCIETY.

But in this instance, it appears as though the guns were NOT pointed at the perp. Otherwise, how would he have been able to attack and get at least part of the gun in his control?
