WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - The novel coronavirus has been discovered in the semen of infected male individuals, according to Chinese researchers, raising the prospect that the virus could potentially be sexually transmitted. However, the study also raises questions: It doesn’t explain how much viral load was present in the sperm, nor does it examine whether or not the virus could be transmitted through sexual activity.

The study, conducted at China’s Shangqiu Municipal Hospital, is described in a research letter published Thursday by the JAMA Network of medical journals. This research is the first to detect the virus in reproductive fluids. Further study is needed to understand whether safe-sex practices should be part of COVID-19 prevention efforts, according to medical experts who read the paper.

“These are intriguing results,” John Brooks, chief medical officer for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC's) coronavirus response, told The Wall Street Journal. But it doesn’t mean that semen is infectious, he said.

Oh, boy, here we go again. They are not sure if it's sexually transmitted. What they are failing to say is that if you're having relations with someone who has it, you're probably going to get it because it's difficult to wear a totally protected mask and have sex (with lots of heavy breathing).

Having sexual relations is not the issue at all. Virus in the semen isn't the problem. If one is having relations with someone who is infected to begin with, you're going to BREATHE IT IN.

The same issue occurred and found in medical research regarding some cases of Ebola, years ago.
In the case of Ebola, the virus was found in male testes as long as 6 months after successful recovery.
So it's existence is quite possible.

I guess to see if it can be transmitted that way. With this disease, it doesn't make sense though. HIV is transmitted through body fluids, not through the air. If you're enjoying yourself with someone who has the Wuhanic Plague, you're probably going to contract it from HEAVY BREATHING IN EACH OTHER'S PRESENCE. As far as we know so far, Wuhanic Plague is an airborne disease.
