I think requiring mask wearing is better than shutting everything down. Thoughts?

Better than? You do realize that they’ll want all other freedoms and liberty removed too right?

This is about compliance with Big Brother. YOU WILL OBEY.

Hospitals are almost empty of patients. Nurses and other staff sent home as there are so few patients.

The 2.2 million dead American surge was a bogus political model.

Why Is I t an either/or choice? Where does the government derive the power to shut everything down? Or require everyone to wear a mask? Since when do Governors acquire dictatorial powers abolishing Constitutional rights? Where does this end?

I get your point, but the fact is there is no constitutional provision whereby this governor can force you to wear a face mask against your will. Unless they actually invoke martial law which these cowards will not do. I say cowards because they know the baggage that comes with the declaration, but in the absence of such a declaration they are simply saying the constitution is meaningless.

Additionally, it is absolutely fine if a PRIVATE business says “DO not come in my shop without a mask” as they have the right to make such a demand in their private spaces.

Neither is effective and neither should be done

How about wearing our underwear on the outside so the cops can see if it’s clean? This is bs. All of it.

Agreed - but, you’re going to be roasted on a spit for saying it here.

You’ll hear a lot about ‘rights’ — but, nothing about the rights of people who don’t want to become infected, because someone thinks wearing a mask is too big an ask.

Asymptomatic people can be carriers. If that were not the case, then mask-wearing would not be necessary. Anyone with symptoms would be quarantined to remove the threat. But, it is the case; and mask-wearing (combined with keeping a 6’ distance) is the best way to remove other restrictions; without killing more people.

It is a tool designed to continue projecting fear and compliance

There is no point to it

I suppose I can put up with this if this is what it takes to get these petty dictators to reopen the economy.

So can you get you hair cut in MA if you wear a mask or is it only essential business there?

"I think requiring mask wearing is better than shutting everything down. Thoughts?"

I think people making trouble about wearing masks in grocery stores are wanting more of a disaster with the purpose of having someone other than President Trump elected. They're probably closet commies.

I've run in temperatures over a 100 degrees quite a few times in full gear at MOPP level four and didn't cry about it. Those little masks won't make anyone noticeably hotter. We're not dogs. We sweat. We drink more water.

“I think requiring mask wearing is better than shutting everything down. Thoughts?”

If it was effective sure. The problem is what mask? A dust mask? A N95 mask? A painters mask? And none are proven effective. On top of that scientist like Dr. Judy Mikovits has said that wearing a mask will make you sick if infected as your just rebreathing the virus. She said that she would never wear a mask. She should know she worked with virus such as AIDS in labs for over 30 years.

It should be individual choice same as with vaccines. Not by decree.

Both are equally useless.

If it comes to have to wear a mask to avoid a court fight and fines, I’ll use cheesecloth.
