The Coronavirus Is China's Fault

The world has not seen this dangerous of a virus since the Spanish flu of 1917. But in today's world, the press and the Democrats use it as a political football. They blame President Trump instead of the ones who are really culpable: the Chinese Communist government. American Thinker interviewed experts on China to get their opinions on who is really to blame.

In looking at the Chinese government over the years, should Americans think of them as friendly, adversaries, enemies, or "frenemies"? Gordan Chang (@GordonGChang), an expert on Chinese affairs, is also a columnist, lawyer, and author of The Coming Collapse of China. He explained to American Thinker, "Last May China defined their role, declaring a people's war on the US. If China viewed America as an enemy then they should be viewed as an enemy."

But the Democrats and mass media do not look on China as the enemy. Rather, they consider President Donald Trump the enemy. Just consider Andrew Yang, who recently said Trump is a racist for referring to the "Chinese Flu." Nancy Pelosi said of the president that he is about "delay, denial, death." They ignore what Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx have said: "[t]he first and only time that Dr. [Deborah] Birx and I went in and formally made a recommendation to the president to actually have a shutdown in the sense of strong mitigation, we discussed it. Obviously, there would be concerns by some, and in fact, that might have some negative consequences. Nonetheless, the president listened to the recommendation and went to the mitigation. The next, second time that I went with Dr. Birx to the president and said 15 days are not enough, we need to go 30 days, he also listened."

Last May China defined their role, declaring a people's war on the US

Was this before or after they signed that blockbuster deal with President Trump?

Either way, President Trump should retract the deal.

Blame China for the virus. Blame Chicken Freepers for the unneeded hysterical response that has sacrificed our liberties and economy. The lockdown carnage is entirely a self inflicted wound. Can’t be China for that.

I was just talking about this this morning with a friend. We were wondering what it would take for the Left to rise up and actually defend America. They won’t do it while Trump (or any Republican) is in the White House. We even went so far as to wonder if the Left would defend America if we were attacked by another country, or even aliens from outer space. I know, it sounds loopy, but we came to the conclusion the Left simply cannot be depended on.

I think the truth of the origin of the virus is still not (publicly) known, as such we should not say with any certainty the virus is China’s fault, except perhaps as a manifestation of a putrid lifestyle.

But delaying international awareness, and brutally suppressing whistle blowers, IS China’s fault.

Probably the best way to figure out the liberals outlook on defense would be historically.

The Clinton administration is a perfect example as they started with a reduction of 25 percent in force structure. They went far beyond that, though. The number of divisions in the U.S. Army went from 18 to 10. The number of wings in the Air Force shrunk from 24 to 13. And the number of ships in the Navy dropped from almost 600 to less than 300. So they cut far deeper than anything anticipated during that period.

For Obama, in 2009, during his first year in office, Obama directed then–defense secretary Robert Gates to cut about $300 billion from Pentagon programs, which had the effect of eliminating several of the major weapons-acquisitions projects. The poster child for this round of cuts was the F-22 fighter. It was the first substantial attempt to deploy stealth and other technologies meant to ensure American air superiority for decades to come. Gates terminated the F-22 at just 187 planes instead of the 750 originally planned by the Air Force. In April of 2011, Obama decided on another $400 billion in defense reductions. During the years 2010 to 2015 the Defense Department built a facility to manufacture 300 F-35 fighters a year, intending to replace the current lightweight fighters in the Air Force, the Navy, and the Marine Corps. But production of the F-35 rarely exceeded one-tenth of that capacity.

There’s more like force reduction and an emphasis on non-combat thought processes and defense regulated actions rather than offensive. But it all adds up to a historical stupidity by the liberals that cost us many people like during WW II when they made concessions to Hitler. Diplomacy without the “ big stick” is worthless against those that would rather die for their God than compromise through diplomacy. Can’t bleed a turnip.

It’s certainly very contagious. The danger seems to be coming more from the politicians and model predictors than the virus itself. If they knew then what they know now I doubt that they would have trashed the world’s economy over it.
