Michigan’s COVID-19 death toll is undercounted. So some want to test the dead.

As the coronavirus death toll climbs in Michigan — 540 as of Saturday (04 April 20) — another grim number will never be known: The dead who go uncounted as casualties of the worst pandemic in a century.“I don’t know if our fatalities would be twice as many or 10 times as high, and we won’t know until we have ready access to tests,” said Dr. Russell Faust, medical director of Oakland County’s health division.

Because of a nationwide shortage of tests, there are few efforts to test the dead for coronavirus, especially for those who are elderly or have underlying conditions.

The latest: Michigan coronavirus map, locations, updated COVID-19 newsWhat Michigan’s coronavirus school closure means for you. What Michigan’s coronavirus stay-at-home order means for residents. What jobs are exempt from Michigan coronavirus lockdown? You may be surprised.

Oakland County is an exception, though, and has tested several bodies to avoid having to quarantine emergency workers who are called to help as people are dying. “The issue is there are a number of people who die ... outside of hospitals.

EMS shows up and they do [cardiopulmonary resuscitation,] and the automatic assumption is that [the person’s] age or comorbidity — maybe emphysema — pushed them over the edge,” Faust said.Without knowing if they’d been exposed to COVID-19, emergency crews would have to be quarantined for 14 days — something small towns can’t afford, Faust said.

Faust declined to say how many bodies had been tested, but he said a “handful” of those cases returned positive results.“Had we not performed those tests, who would not have known they were COVID cases,” Faust said.

Tests remain at a premium in Michigan, whose hospitals and private labs have tested nearly 38,000 people for the virus as of Saturday. That’s roughly the same as Ohio and far fewer than Illinois,

Keep testing Half Whitmer anally to see if she’s dead, and don’t stop until you get positive results.

One of those thermometers they use on cows would work.

Just like voting, they’ll stuff the numbers until they get the result they want. Republicans should have outlawed the democrat party in 1865 and hanged the democrat leadership North and South on the National Mall.

Doesn’t matter how they died they’re counted if they have COVID in their system.

Nobody dies from Coronavirus. They die from other diseases that could become complicated by viral infections, such as cytostorms that cause inflammation that does things like forcing the heart to work harder to pump blood (and/or through already narrowed or hardened arteries), pneumonia that prevents oxygen from delivering to vital organs, stroke, etc.

I’m not saying the virus doesn’t cause death. Just saying that it is not a cause-in-fact of any death. It is just a contributing cause to death by other means.

Lots of skepticism in the media about HQC. But nobody questions the ventilators where 80% of people put on them die. Personally, and I am no doctor or bioresearcher, this is obvious: The earlier you intervene in a disease the greater the likelihood of a positive outcome. If someone has cancer you want to catch it very early so you can cut it out quickly; not wait until it metastasizes and only chemo might buy a few extra months. Same with HQC, Zinc and either Azythromycin or Erythromycin depending on the cardiology. You want to give them early - at diagnoses, or first onset of symptoms, to inhibit the ability of the virus to replicate and give the body time to build its own immune response. It’s just that simple.

All these yammering heads on TV annoy the heck out of me.

Put some Democrat election workers in charge. There’s probably boxes of them in the trunk of a car someplace
