Widespread poverty, the trampling of civil liberties enforced by an oppressive police state and the break down of civil order by desperate, hungry people would make a good campaign ad juxtaposed to the economic conditions pre crisis and a promise to rebuild via capitalism.

If the economy had kept growing , reelection would have been a cakewalk. The President had to get control of the narrative or end up like Hubert hoover. I still trust Trumps instincts because it has carried him further than I thought it would.
