Michigan Likely To Strip Governor Of Reopening Powers

LifeZette

By LifeZette | April 24, 2020 8:54AM

In a very personal form of lobbying state officials, protesters held a demonstration outside the home of Michigan Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Thursday. This was the same day news broke that Whitmer plans to extend the state’s virus stay-at-home order until May 15th. Meanwhile, the state legislature will meet to likely strip Whitmer of certain powers to close and/or reopen the state.

Protestors were not happy about the two week extension until mid-month, “We wanted to send Gretchen Whitmer a message, we didn’t want to surrender our liberties just for a little temporary safety,” Brian Pannebecker, a protest leader, told the local Fox television affiliate in Lansing, Michigan.

Who'd have thought I would be glad to see Governor Whitmer and strip used in the same sentence title?

They're going to strip her of the power to reopen the state? Or is their writing just that bad?

Apparently Michigan will remain closed forever.

Business owners should begin to file lawsuits for 5th amendment violations, regarding taking private property for public use without just compensation. These governors have all restricted the use of private businesses in order to ostensibly, protect public health, while providing no payment for the loss of income.

I’m guessing it’s the writing. Strip her of delaying reopening I suspect.

BS. Whitmer already said she will veto any bill that strips her of power. I doubt the state legislature has the votes to override.

I’m betting sleepy Joe will bail her out of there by picking her as running mate.

I’m not so sure that’s a bad thing. The longer this drags out, the greater the discontent in Michigan, which we need to win again in November.

We need to give the RAT governors every opportunity to show themselves for the tin-pot dictators they really are.

Whitmer is helping President Trump take Michigan in November.

She is and she has, sadly, almost certainly removed herself from consideration as Sleepy Joe’s running mate. I was so looking forward to her glistening skin face on the campaign trail with Joe.

I wonder what Biden’s team thinks of this, we all know he is not the brains of the operation.

kabuki theater by majority state republicans to cover their asses... they know she’ll veto

However much she is going against the people I’m not sure it’s a good thing to strip her of power of State. That puts it back on the government. We need the diversity of powers. Our remedy is the voting booth (hopefully).

I knew it sounded too good to be true, I am sure they don’t have the veto override numbers. Do it anyway keep the pressure on.

It actually reads she will be stripped of powers to keep it closed.

Partner, she is really out of her league.

A friend of mine voted in the 2016 presidential election in Michigan and he complained rightfully so because he had voted for President Trump and out came that he voted for the "Witch" Miss Hillary. He complained to the folks there and the guy told him to vote on that machine, which probably was not those crazy voting machines.

I do not know how in the world she beat that former Gov'nor of the Great State of Michigan but I am pretty sure it was because of shenanigans like this little example that I just gave ya.

BTW, in 2016 the libertarian candidate wanted this extra count and the Gov'nor of Michigan gave the election to President Trump since there was so much fraud of votes when they got to Detroit.
