Why? He did the minimum and it payed off. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes, with sniping like that.

He’s the best governor we’ve had down here in a long time. He was under intense media pressure to issue draconian lockdown provisions and refused. He also didn’t shut businesses until he had to. We never had irrational rules like in Michigan or other blue states and were able to continue church services and recreational activities throughout. Our numbers, when you back out south Florida, are fantastic and even if you include them, our mortality rate is relatively low compared to other states. Desantis has done fantastic for us. Thank gosh gay meth head sex orgy Gillum wasn’t our Governor.

I'm starting to like him less.

You along with the entire media and the entire left.

And none of us who live in Florida give a rip whether any of you like him more, less, or in between.

Why? His only problem was that he did what Trump did, let local authorities decide. Most of them in South Florida are Dem loonies so they locked their towns down, and our mayor in Jacksonville did too. However, he’s being forced to loosen up, partially by the governor and partially by the fact that many in our population here simply don’t give a darn and realize that the panic reaction is all hype.

Jax is a young, healthy and fitness obsessed town that was filled with small businesses and start-ups. We need to get back to work.

I wrote to De Santis and my state rep (who has been very good!) the other day and anybody who lives in Florida should write to Gov DeSantis and their Reps and Senators (State and Fed) too.

Screw him. The unemployment system is a disaster worst in the nation, and he does not care.

But he agreed to take over without filing Disney employees. And everyone else is in the back of the bus This reeks of favoritism. Disney employees will get paid, and only 4% of he rest are paid. Excuse me thats 96% are told to rot while we take care of the favored.

Sorry a little bitter. I voted for the SOB. Only thing the alternate was much worse.

His decisions look like they were correct despite the constant sniping of the MSM and even several posters here.

I like DeSantis, and he’s basically right about this.

” I’m starting to like him less. “

i’m starting to like him more and more ... he’s one smart cookie; i saw him on FNC saying he studied the models and modeling in general and really dug into them and came to the conclusion that the models were wrong and refused to take kneejerk actions based on faulty models ... as far as i can tell, DeSantis is one of the smartest (maybe even the smartest) of all of the governors ...

“I’m starting to like him less. “

Perhaps the Gov. of Michigan would be more to your taste.

DeSantis has done a great job.

I hope he green lights EVERYONE going back to work no later than this coming Monday.

My feeling is densely populated cities and any densely populated living environments with common living areas between people get hit hard with this virus and other places don’t. It seems like one policy or another has had little effect on changing that.

The South Korean model of intensive contact-tracing and mass testing is the only thing that might’ve worked to stop the spread, but it’s clear now this country and its states are so far off from knowing how to do that and being ready to do it that they still aren’t ready to do it. So there was nothing here to stop the spread. Given that reality, the virus got sprinkled everywhere quickly but only really thrived in dense populations.
