President Donald Trump said Monday the U.S. is "looking to" add as many as 75 million barrels of oil to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Trump spoke after an historic day in the oil [cl.1] markets, in which the May WTI crude contract closed at -$37.63 a barrel, a one-day drop of 306%. Trump said he was considering the move "based on the record low price of oil," and that the action would "top it out." Speaking at a White House press briefing, Trump said, "we'd get it for the right price."

Unfortunately that is only several days of production, but it does fill the reserve.

I read that when oil futures went negative that it meant that they would pay YOU to haul it away. If this is true, then President Trump should quickly fill the reserve! It would be a great WINNING moment!
Might as well. Prices on a barrel have gone negative in the futures market so I think the more we buy the more we save.

Time to Fill Up the Strategic Petroleum Reserve?
We definitely NEEDED a business person at the helm right now, grabbing the private sector to do many of these tasks because the government can’t get a damn thing accomplished in less than a decade for God’s sake!! Watching the damn regulations and red tape in government s totally ridiculous REALLY RIDICULOUS!! I can’t even imagine Trumps frustration HOWEVER he now knows just how bad the government runs if he wins again get ready for a MASSIVE OVERHAUL!!!

No. You can’t store gasoline long-term like that. Even with an additive like Sta-Bil, it starts to degrade after only 3 years.
