New COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania have stabilized, but the statewide stay-at-home order will remain in place through May 8, Gov. Tom Wolf announced Monday afternoon. The order originally was set to expire April 30.
Additionally, curbside pickup is now available at 176 state liquor sales a move that will help state officials determine whether curbside pickup can be expanded safely to other businesses currently closed by the pandemic.
Wolf said several coronavirus-related restrictions will be relaxed next month. Online car sales and some limited construction will be permitted beginning May 8. He called them the first "small steps" toward a return to normalcy.
"I want to caution that this is not going to be resuming operations as they were in February," Wolf said. "We still do not have a vaccine. We still do not have an antibody test, and we still do not have a way to cure COVID-19."
The announcement came as protesters outside the state Capitol called for an end to the shutdown.

That’s not going to make the protesters any happier.
“Fourth of July celebrations will be permitted, but they MUST be held indoors, and that means NO FIREWORKS OR BARBECUES!”

Once we get a vaccine in a few years, we'll still have to stay closed until we can put a lab on Pluto.
It will continue until there is massive civil disobedience.
It will never end -
“I beg to differ. That protest does not look socially distanced to me.”

If anyone’s looking to get covid19, there are much more certain ways of getting it. e.g. volunteer at a nursing home for a week.
At any rate, I don’t think you’ll find a whole lot of people who wanna chance at getting up close and personal with a ventilator tube.
Screw that. I’m setting off fireworks indoors then. I ain’t listening to no gubermint man.
It will never end”
Sure feels like it.

I understand that as long as the next month is not getting seared it’s not as bad as it seems
next month is down about 15 to 20 percent.
bad but not the one that just expired!!
As opposed to collapsing into poverty? You bet they’d roll the dice on that. 98% recover and are fine.
The question is whether you'll be able to do everything you want to do ... and on that count I'm pretty sure you won't.

You seen a hospital bill for something as basic as having sn sppendix removed or having a baby? Now think of weeks in an ICU with round the clock care - and, should the patinet survive, the complications for week,s month and/or years afterwards. (And that’s hoping it doesn’t come back)
There ya got poverty and a lifetime filled of debt.
Nice try, but Trump has already said Uncle Sugar is picking up that tab for that.
