The farmer-owned dairy cooperative, which produces butter, cheese and other milk products, has dropped the Native American maiden image from its packaging, opting instead for just a landscape.
The logo, which has been the companys label for nearly 100 years since it was founded in Minnesota in 1921, has been called racist and criticized for its use of the butter maiden.

Saw the full article this morning on my news feed. Heres the feedback I sent to Land O Lakes
Your butter has been my favorite go-to brand. Has been. I see that youre changing your iconic image of a Native American woman to a generic landscape scene. One reason given is that its offensive to Native Americans; a secondary reason that its a sexual image that promotes human trafficking. Im offended that you presume to speak for all Native Americans and that you apparently see a depraved undertone in all images of beautiful women. Enjoy your wokeness and your power to woke scold the public. I hope the snowflakes this was meant to impress buy lots of your butter because Ill never buy another stick of it.
LBGT...XYZ CEO, hardly a shocker.
Were now buying Irish butter because Mr. Mercat believes it is better for us.
The Woketariat will not be denied.
Irish butter is available at my local Trader Joe's. I will never again buy another cube of that "woke" brand.
Leinenkugel’s next, no doubt.
To the racist left; everything is racist.
I’m not even sure they know any other word.
Nicely done.
I really dont care if theyre woke or not. The Irish butter which is available pretty much everywhere is better. A bit more expensive but better butter.
I usually get Kerrygold, which comes from grass-fed cattle. I won’t be buying that “woke” brand, Land of Lakes, anymore.
I prefer the Kroger butter with Olive Oil and Sea Salt.
