I’m going to research this, because, I don’t think its correct. I think the kinetic energy of the liquid is dissipated in the fibers of the mask, esp an N95 mask. You are working against surface tension of water in the sneeze, big drops MUST be reduced in size in order to propagate through the mask.

What do you think research on this is going to reveal?

Take a close look at a N95 mask.
The air is filtered on inhale...exhaust is through the check valve and unfiltered....so a sneeze would create a plume of infection if the wearer was coronavirus infected.
