WASHINGTON – A team of government officials – led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – has created a public health strategy to combat the coronavirus and reopen parts of the country.

Their strategy, obtained by The Washington Post, is part of a larger White House effort to draft a national plan to get Americans out of their homes and back to work. It gives guidance to state and local governments on how they can ease mitigation efforts, moving from drastic restrictions such as stay-at-home orders in a phased way. . .

The origins of wearing a face mask when you were in the public domain in sick health was a Japanese thing back in the 70's and to date. It is not to prevent any transmission. It's a display of manners suggesting to others to distance yourself from them. Kinda like "I have a cold, so stay back" sign.

How it became some medical necessity to stop disease transmission is beyond me?

“But these accomplishments have been largely obscured by the political attention and praise directed to New York, and particularly its governor, Andrew M. Cuomo.”

He was never really great...

“Beneath the bluster of the president saying May 1, and he’s in charge, and all the other things, there are real efforts to figure out how we could safely and actually do this,” that official said.

That official should be found and fired, if he exists.

I wonder if this plan includes restoring all freedoms and liberties to what they were prior to the ChiCom flu. How about restoring them back to what they were prior to the Hussein administration? And while we are at it, prior to 9/11. Oh, geez, let's go for it, how about prior to the Wilson administration? Hell will freeze over first.

Is it harder to send a ‘shower of sneeze’ through a mask my direction or or no?

To make liberals feel good, like they are doing something. If a cloth mask can’t stop the virus from entering who good is it to stop the spread of you sneeze?

The physics of a sneeze are frightening. No a surgical mask does not stop much of it.

The force is the pressure times the area: Force = Final Pressure * Tube Cap Area = 70.6 Newtons = 15.8 lbs of force

Have Nolan Ryan pitch a 100mph rosin bag of snot at you from inside your mask.

re: “No a surgical mask does not stop much of it.”

I’m going to research this, because, I don’t think its correct. I think the kinetic energy of the liquid is dissipated in the fibers of the mask, esp an N95 mask. You are working against surface tension of water in the sneeze, big drops MUST be reduced in size in order to propagate through the mask.

What do you think research on this is going to reveal?
