We were each assigned 1 N95 per 1 covid patients room but was not allowed to wear it outside of the room, wear our own N95 mask around the Nurses station or Halls, which I came prepared with, Imaris admitted. This was different than her original story, which claimed that nurses were not being protected. If the covid patients room is a negative pressure room wearing a mask outside the room is unnecessary.
Wearing a N95 mask for an entire 12 hour shift would cause unnecessary fatigue. It takes extra effort to breath through the mask.
I agree with the hospital management.

The N95 is basically a over glorified dust mask, and the “extra effort” to breathe through it is negligible. It’s not like a military M17 or M40 protective mask, or the MSA full face mask I have to use at work.
