NY Governor Andrew Cuomo has asked for 30,000 ventilators to deal with crisis Coronavirus, which causes respiratory difficulties, increased demand for the kit But medical experts say there aren't enough medics qualified to operate them As it stands there are 7,713 respiratory specialists licensed in NY for ventilators Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and should you see a doctor?

Even if New York Governor Andrew Cuomo gets the 30,000 ventilators he has asked for, finding enough skilled workers to operate them all is the real challenge, medical experts say.

Coronavirus, which causes respiratory complications, has placed a colossal strain on New York hospitals with more than 59,000 cases, including 965 deaths, and increased demand for ventilators.

However, despite Cuomo saying that the machines are 'what missiles were to WWII' there are 7,713 respiratory specialists in his state licensed to operate ventilators.

Anthony Everidge, a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care, told the New York Post: 'I read that Gov. Cuomo said that ventilators are to coronavirus what missiles were to WWII. While I am sure this is true, you would not have grabbed a front-line soldier off the battlefield, put him in the fighter cockpit and expect him to fly the plane, launch the missiles and defeat the enemy.

Brings to mind an interview with one of the Rosie the Riviter women in an old documentary.

“I actually came away from this experience feeling very sorry for men. I mean they had always been told that they needed years of training to do these jobs. They had to serve apprenticeships and jump through a lot of hoops. But the fact of the matter is that if there’s a need somebody can be trained to do that job VERY well, and quickly. They had been sold a bill of goods.”

Has NY finally broken open their emergency supply or are the still sitting on their butts waiting for the rest of us to bail them out?

More ridiculous lies from the Daily Mail. PJMedia sums it all up...

On Saturday, there were 6,481 people hospitalized in New York with coronavirus. Of those, 1,583 were in intensive care. If every person in intensive care were on a ventilator, the state still has thousands more than that available as the governor has repeatedly estimated his current stock to be around 6,000 units. It isn't possible that hospitals are short on ventilators when they have less than 2,000 patients in the ICU in the whole state. These numbers alone should tell people who is telling the truth and who is not. The question of why is harder to figure out.

YEA OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the place that went through 9/11. Why don’t they have enough places to serve sick people or skilled professsionals?

Maybe they should spend that money on real things instead of BS gender and environmental crap.

NYC brags about being the best. Really?

Bigo.

In the future the Fed needs to restrict population and set how many Doctors,Nurses,Inhalation techs and ventilators they need per capita.

No new construction until the underlying medical resources exists.

We continue to pay steep, steep price for that one city.

All MBS pushers to the front line.
BodyMortgagers Insurance personnel to the front line. “All in together”. Right?

Someone must think there was no one, except the captain, on that hospital ship the President ordered to go help New Yorkers.

I would bet that most of the Public High School graduates could operate them with about an hour of instruction, in 1975!!!

Cuomo is blowing smoke out his azz, has no idea what to do with ventilators but hoard them while people are dying in other states

Looks like Trump has worked yet another go-round of an obstruction masquerading as a boss, sending the machines directly to the requesting hospitals

It’s why we won the war. Germany demanded specialists, and wouldn’t even think of using blue collar workers or assembly lines in their war machine factories. His hatred of capitalism cost him the war.

Libtards get an F in math and an A in hysteria. If numb nuts can’t use 30,000 ventilators then why does he keep asking for them? The media continues to be his lord of the stool.

I was struck by the same thought. How can Cuomo justify “stockpiling” ventilators when the hospitals in NY are saying they don’t have enough right now?

You can’t have it both ways.

Either NY has enough ventilators to meet their immediate need and the additional units are for, as Cuomo says, the potential spike in cases over the next couple of weeks. OR, Cuomo’s distribution system is so screwed up that he’s playing CYA to explain away how they got caught with ventilators in a warehouse no one knew about.

They’ll wind up in a warehouse gathering dust like the pallets of water in Puerto Rico. Then, after all this dies down Cuomo will sell them to Ukraine.

He's waiting for the "apex" don't you know? In the meantime he's hoarding them.
