Six days after giving it to patients with Covid-19, he said, only 25% of them were still infected with the virus, while 90% of those who had not received it were still positive.
If some of his colleagues do not take him seriously, questioning his methods and the results of his therapeutic trials, the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, announced Saturday March 21 that this treatment would be tested "on a larger scale "
"I asked that Professor Raoult's study be reproduced [...] in other hospitals, by other independent teams, said the minister. I am that of extremely close. "

The governments of France, Italy and now India have authorized the use of the HCQ regimen.
I believe I saw people on FR attacking Didier Raoult.
The interview is about a week old, obviously.
I find it amazing this hasn’t been widely published here in the USA.
Then again, maybe it’s entirely unsurprising. Which raises all sorts of additional questions.

To all medical professionals around the world:
My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.
As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).
Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:
1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.
2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.
3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).
My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:
1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days
2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days
3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days
The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.
Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.
Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.
In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.

there are now several much larger studies done- not clinical studies- but studies with real live folks that are proving almost 100% effective- There’s no need to prevent folks from getting this anymore- The drug has proven very safe for decades now- as has the antibiotic it is given with

Zelenko’s patients are mostly ultra-Orthodox Jews. They are a close community, meeting in groups 3 or 4 times a day, and very reverent of their many older teachers, who often stay active and social into their 90s. Their chief Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum is over 70 and has the CV.
Effective treatment of such a high-risk population is very significant.
Can you imagine if all these overly cautious morons where around when the Salk was developing and testing the Smallpox vaccine? We would still have the scourge of smallpox with us.

The 24 patient study has since been supplemented with an ADDITIONAL 80 patient study by Dr. Raoult with practically similar results.
Prof. Didier Raoult and his team published results of their new additional study to confirm the previous one.
The study was supported by the Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire (IHU) Méditerranée Infection. Unlike the previous small study trial, the new observation study has a larger sample size of 80 COVID-19 patients. The objective of the study was to find an effective treatment to cure COVID-19 patients and to decrease the virus carriage duration.
In 80 in-patients receiving a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, the team found a clinical improvement in all but one 86 year-old patient who died, and one 74-year old patient still in intensive care unit. The team also found that, by administering hydroxychloroquine combined with azithromycin, they were able to observe an improvement in all cases, except in one patient who arrived with an advanced form, who was over the age of 86, and in whom the evolution was irreversible.

Bahrain and Morocco have also approved it. Italy has been way behind on this approval and France as well but both finally gave the go-ahead.
So he treated 80 patients who were “had the virus (no mention of severity but sounds like “mild”) and two went on to become severe. If you check my “in forum” i posted the day this crap came out that “It may very well be this drug prevents or reduces asymptomatic people form a longer, more severe illness.” What is needed is a drug to help the people who present for the first time very ill (blue people) and (from my knowledge of the drug) I seriously doubt this works ‘as advertised’.”
I spent years of my life in ICUs. I may not be current but no one is going to bullshit me about what goes on in ICUs.
I would also point that some 95% people who get it are asymptomatic or mild. I could randomly select people who test positive and DO NOTHING and get the same result as Raoult. He is “highly respected” but I’m not sure by whom. Not me.
